I'm not sure about this
apart from underlying skeleton not being designed to carry a foetus and the risk of immunosuppressant drugs, is it a good idea. Maybe for selfish adults, but shouldn't we consider that the outcome of all this could be a new life, who should have some protection.
I have no problem with people doing all sorts of things to themselves providing they make informed decisions. Once you involve babies, then someone else is directly affected. We have to learn that we can't have everything and settle for what is realistically possible. This is selfish fantasy stuff - sure we'd all like to have been mothers - but it ain't gonna happen, and I certainly wouldn't do it and risk a baby's life just so I can tick another box of femaleness.

Second the sentiment
It brings up all of those red flags and would be least objectionable if it was not actually used to have a baby as I don't really give a hoot if the purchaser alone takes on the risk of immunosuppressants but a baby is a whole different matter.

I agree with your agreement.
Maybe sometime in the 22nd century this will work, but for now the transplant seems to be almost pointless since the uterus' sole purpose is to nurture a baby, and the drugs used to keep the body from rejecting the organ would, at best, interfere enough so as to prevent pregnancy, and perhaps worse might occur since, as you both say, there's more than one person involved. There's a very valid medical reason why the organ transplant protocol excludes women who are or are suspected of being pregnant. Adoption and surrogacy may not be as fulfilling in some folks minds, but the children produced from these interventions are no less loveable, and the parents involved are no less parents.
Read FT for the facts
If you read my "Studs Make Good Cash Cows", you'll find that, according to the Financial Times, this is happening by 2059!

Maybe not have a baby
... but for some girls I betcha they would love to have a period just to show how girly they are. Remember, a period is possible without ovaries since it is the uterus that does the who shedding of its lining thing.
