Breaking news: Mrs. DiMaggio discovered "Three Girls" manuscript on flash drive. She wanted to know what all the secrecy was about. Andrea spoke with her, explaining that she was afraid of discovery that would lead to rejection. "What...I knew about this...we both did," she said, referring in part to their son. No specifics involved other than that she understands.
"You still love me?"
"Of course I still love you!"
"This is a big community who need a lot of love and understanding, and I think it's a good idea." Andrea reported that she was only slightly disappointed that Mrs. D. found the clothing issue...'a bit creepy' but was ecstatic when Mrs. D said, "Of course, you have a lot of woman in you." Much more talking to do, of course, and continued understanding needed on both of our parts, but Andrea reports that less stress may help with tremors and vertigo. So, while there is much still to be dealt with and discovered and discussed, we end this report with the following from our correspondent, Diana Krall. (Thanks to Irving Berlin as well!) but just one last thing...
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of your kind words of encouragement; your thoughts; your prayers, and most of all, the love you've shown me and, by extension, my family over the past months.
Take it away, Diana!
There may be trouble ahead
But while there's moonlight and music
And love and romance
Let's face the music and dance
Before the fiddlers have fled
Before they ask us to pay the bill
And while we still
Have the chance
Let's face the music and dance
Soon
We'll be without the moon
Humming a diff'rent tune
And then
There may be teardrops to shed
So while there's moonlight and music
And love and romance
Let's face the music and dance
Dance
Let's face the music and dance

This brought tears to my eyes Andrea.
You deserve this happiness so very, very much. This shows so many people that there is hope for them even when it feels bleak.

Hooray!
Andrea,
My heart leapt straight into my throat when I saw the title. I didn't know what to expect, but your wonderful news has left me in tears. I'm so happy for you! Much as you've encouraged myself and others here, and as much as your mere presence has been a bright blessing in our lives, you of all people have paid your dues to have that returned in-kind.
All my best to you and yours,
~Zoe
The title had me worried but
The title had me worried but it seems for nothing. I hope it all works out for the best for you! :-)

I'm so happy for you!
Being "out" to our loved ones is a scary thing - whether it's accidental, semi-accidental or intentional.
Bless you and your wife. One thing - if she's anything like mine... She'll have a FEW questions, but she will NOT want to spend a LOT of time talking about this - often...
May your future months be blessed.
Anne

Scary but wonderful news.
I'm so glad she finally got to meet Andrea. You are such a wonderful, sweet and caring girl!
I remember back to 2003 when I came out to my soul mate of over 30 years at the time. It's been rocky at times since, but now she understands me alot better, and knows which buttons not to push.
I think you may be correct in diminished stress having a very positive effect on your overall health. I can't imagine what it must be like to live with the tremors and vertigo, and the other symptoms you've reported here. I do know that stress affects my blood pressure, and that causes all sorts of secondary things to me, so I'm sure stress probably affects others too.
Just remember to take things very slow. I'm sure right now you'd like to open up and share everything there is to know about Andrea, but she is likely not ready for that. Give her some time to get to know her on her own terms and you will be much better off in the long run.
Funny you should quote Diana Krall. I was thinking as I read your post, Jane Monheidt singing "Detour" :-)
Good luck and tidings, my hopes and prayers are with you both.
Hugs

Yay!
I'm so glad that the moment you feared turned out to be something positive, and in such a wonderful way!
Laika said it right, this is your best story ever!
Huge hugs!

Phew!
Hopefully this means that, at the very least, you don't have to hide your computer activities from Mrs. D.
Maybe one day she'll be brave enough to further dip her toes in the water and volunteer to read some of the vast corpus of work you've submitted to this site... or even take a look around and see for herself that we're (generally) a friendly bunch from all walks of life, most corners of the world and all positions on the gender spectrum.

Seconded!
'Aunt' Drea's writings are so heartwarming and touching. Her characters always feel so organic, from the playful Elma and Zoe to the lovely and talented Linda Piontak.
Wishing you all the best!

Andrea Outed!!!!
The picture and song says it all.

So if I get this correctly,
Now your mum and family know and seem to be handling it okay.
Well congrats girl and use this to take things forward but in very small steps.
Good luck love.
