So, things are still going in the story and what I am posting is catching up to what I haven't written yet. We still have a ways to go and I am hoping that I am able to stay ahead of the game. It does help that I do occasionally realize that there is a gap in the narrative and create a new chapter, like for this week. There were some issues I had not addressed yet and had to throw them in. Not sure yet if this is going to get pulled yet for submission, but it just might. I like the story and the characters. They are a lot of fun and I do put poor Geoff/ Melanie through a good amount of grief. People like reading about suffering and oddly enough I do like writing about it. I get to be a cruel evil Nazi-esque type of torturer to characters and I don't get in trouble. Sublimating your potential for violence into something constructive like literature is a good thing and something I recommend to everyone.

In all honesty I sublimate those urges through both writing, which explains some of the things I have done to characters and through video games. Where else do you know where you can get rewarded for killing 600 plus people at a single go? Besides, I look terrible in safety orange. The eighties were not overly kind to me in terms of fashion. I wanted to dress like Madonna but ended up looking like a terrible car wreck between Duran Duran and Howard Jones, with Thomas Dolby caught as an innocent bystander. That color orange does not look good on most anyone. Of course the hat didn't help either. But I digress.

I am glad everyone seems to be enjoying the story and the terrible things I am doing to our Hero/oine. This was a fun exercise in trying to figure out just to what lengths a person would go to save both themselves and a tribe. Geoff/ Melanie is really giving it her all and is certainly making the best of a terrible situation. I like resiliency in people. It is a great survival trait that I highly recommend to everyone. A persons ability to deal with uncertainty and chaos and adapt to it is almost paramount in this day and age. Things are crazy and if you can't change along with things you will get dragged under and eaten by Republicans. For those of you not from America please insert the appropriate political group and if you are Republican... uhm... I guess I didn't mean cannibalism?

Anyway... still writing. Maybe one day I will finish this yarn and knit together another story, but this one about Da Vinci, Faeries, and summer break. It's not like I have anything better to do.
