After reading all the really downer blogs as of late I thought I would share something more positive, maybe. Last night I had to use the tiolet and , yep you guessed it, The toilet seat broke at the most inconvienent time. Well today I had to fix it or Mrs. C would have to go down stairs to do what she does. After who know how many years the nuts on the bolts were gone, rusted to the rust God in the sky. Mrs. C bought me one of those Fien cutters, only a knock off and well the battery went dead and now I'm waiting for it to charge. Why you wonder, am I writing this blog? Well duh, I'm waiting for the battery to charge. Love you guys, Arecee

LOL
Sounds like the time I got asked to replace the garbage disposal...
No, I didn't have to wait for a tool to recharge. But, I did have to run to the store to get a second piece of pipe... Plumbing projects grow! (Seems the old disposal was just a little bit LARGER than the new one, so the pipe to link didn't QUITE reach. It was plastic - so I was pushing it toward... Well enough, needless to say, the next piece of the old pipe broke, and I had to go get the replacement for that - long enough to reach.
I'm NOT a plumber. I don't claim to be one. But, I read and can follow directions. LOL
See - folks even read your blogs! :-)

Been there, done that. It's
Been there, done that. It's a man thing, and it doesn't work, Arecee
The man thing.
Hi Annete, dunno if you're in UK or US but it's like this. There are two different sizes of plastic waste pipe in the UK for each different diameter. There is 'push fit' where the connectors have rubber rings and threaded compression fittings then there is 'glue fit' or 'welded' pipe that uses glue to join the connections. Push fit does not fit welded connectors and vice versa.
I wouldn't be surprised if the same stupid dichotemy existed in The States as over here in Brit.
Plumbing's like that and your right, it's a man thing.
Though most men are 'push fit'.
Oops, freudian slip there perhaps.
Beverly.
Growing old disgracefully.
the last time
I had to deal with those brass bolts, they were worn and so eroded and frozen, there was no way pliers, etc would work. I wound up taking a hack saw blade (metal saw blade) from the frame, just laying it on the enamel and working it back and forth right under the head of the bolt. Took a few minutes but they did come right off. Now, all the creepy things are plastic and don't las as long as the cheaper seats made today.
