Taking the plunge...

The countdown started yesterday and on the 20th of this month, I start running my own company.

It's nothing grand or even interesting, but I will be remodelling my website, using Google and Amazon to help in generating income.

So it's all hands to the pumps right now, trying to get my hubs translated to HTML to be ready to go live sometime next week.

I'm happy to say that if all goes well, I will also have the piece on transsexuals ready and live too and once again, I couldn't have been more pleased with the help you all gave me for that one.

Well, it's a big bad world out there and my wish is that I don't become one of those statistics that em>didn't make it past the first year.

I shall let you all know when the site goes live, but in the meantime, it's back to the strong coffee (which I'm considering having fed intravenously) and putting my nose back to the grindstone. I will say though, you gotta love Photoshop and Dreamweaver :) I'll get my head round Flash too one of these days.

Anyway, thanks again and if you don't hear from me, it's because getting this started is bound to take me out of the loop for a while.

Big hugs

Nick B

Congratulations!

Running your own business is a big step. And I can definitely relate to the coffee IV. Remember, though, that you can do more in twelve hours with eight hours of sleep than you can do in twenty-four hours with no sleep.

I'm looking forward to seeing your site.

If you get in a bind, I can cut some HTML for you.

Thanks Ray

I'm notoriously bad when it comes to sleeping :)

I spent most of yesterday designing some graphics for the various sections of the site and I still have more to do. This is the biggest site I've undertaken, so there's lots more that needs doing and little time to do it, especially if I want to get it up and running in time.

Dreamweaver is pretty good for the HTML, but your offer is appreciated. It's mainly the bulk of what I need to put into the site - content wise that's causing me the biggest headache. I don't just want to repeat what's in the hubs, I need to make these pages better and that requires creativity - times about fifty pages over seven days.

Still, it keeps me away from the games...

I too am excited with the prospect of this venture, but Penny's sceptical. The woman I spoke to on Thursday where I got the thirteen week grant for starting up on my own seemed more convinced than her, but I'm confident there's every possibility that I will get this moving. It's just the revenue generation that's the big variable.

Still, I'll have other strings to my bow, so the site's just a small part of what I'll be doing - despite the amount of work.

Well, it's 7:27 on Sunday morning here and soon I'll be getting ready to watch Jenson Button clobber Fernando Alonso off the line in Italy. He may still win the championship. That would be nice.

Thanks again, Ray.

Hugs

Nick
