And so we finally have the delayed chapter 13 of Princess For Hire! With, at its end, a mysterious pseudo-cliffhanger, WOOoooOOOOooo *ghosty sounds*
So, here comes the User Recommendation part. You, yes, YOU, have a say in what happens in the story. Does Beck's dad decide to come up and stay with Sarah's family in Persistence? Or does Beck go home with his dad, meet the mysterious voice on the other end of the phone, and have whatever adventures I can come up with there?
Here's the deal, though. Be prepared, because there's a possibility that the choice you make could have serious effects on the next half on the story, effects even I'M not sure of yet. Regardless, I know some events that will happen whichever path is chosen, and both paths affect Beck quite differently.
So, it's your choice. Stay in Persistence, or off to his father's mysterious home?
GO!
PS: I'm gonna say right now that if it comes down to a tie, I'm gonna choose Persistence simply because I've grown rather attached to the town and characters. That being said, going to his father's, and seeing the club his father works at, could be interesting, so as I said, it's entirely up to reader majority which path I take.

I love Sarah's family to bits and you had a real feel for them in the Thanksgiving interlude. Also it would give Beck more time with his dad given less time travelling and you've established the characters have been apart for quite a while and while staying with Sarah, they don't have to spend every minute with her. There would still be ample time for father - son(daughter) chats and they could talk about the mysterious voice.

Yup....
I agree. Persistence.

I would like to think
I have some of that as without it I could not have gotten far in life. So I would prefer Persistence.
We still don't know a lot about Persistence and there is the possibility Mystery Man can show up. My instincts tell me, going to the club at a later time makes more sense with Beck having had time to come to grips with his identity with people who are now like a second family I think a better choice. The club is too 'mature' of an environment to my eyes at this point and may be confusing.

Persistence
For a start, it offers more father-(pseudo)daughter bonding time as opposed to father-son - we already know Sarah's wider family regard him as a girl anyway, so it'll be inevitable most of the break will be spent in girl mode.
And especially if Beck and his dad have an opportunity to go on a trip / do some activities without Sarah (and family) in tow, it might give him chance to explore his girl side and discuss his conflicts with someone who's primarily known his boy side.

Sorry Mel,
but I thought authors wrote and readers read. So far you're doing okay by yourself, remember a camel is a horse designed by committee.

As for me, I'd say an invitaation to Persistence is in order.
