It really puts anything by Microsoft, the Apple "Mac vs PC" ads, and even Novell's Linux parodies (search: Novell Mac PC Linux) to shame.
The developers claim Java was on a list of random words they were looking at to choose the name for their new programming language, but popular belief (combined with the logo) suggests they named it after what they were drinking at the time...
Then whatever else you think about operating systems, Linux has the cutest logo. Forget the flag or the fruit - Tux wins hands down :)

The quick answer is that Java is a programming language. That's not the point of that spoof, though.
Today's programming community is dominated by two major factions: Open Source and Proprietary.
One of the earlier web browsers to become popular was Netscape. In response to that, Microsoft came up with Internet Explorer.
Since Microsoft is in the business of making money, they made sure that they integrated IE into their operating systems so firmly that it was almost impossible to remove without crippling Windows.
Meanwhile, Linus Torvalds acquired the the specifications for a universal operating system called Unix (it takes balls to write Unix.) He published the source code and invited other programmers to participate.
The Linux OS (Operating System) was born.
And the battle rages on.
"If you depend on proprietary software for your programing, you are a share-cropper." says the open source gurus.
Meanwhile, Microsoft has come up with its Visual Studio suite of products. It is a very useful, comprehensive, and expensive suite of products. I spent most of my career writing applications in Visual Foxpro (which is descended from Foxpro and Foxbase, which were written by Fox software, which sold out to Microsoft.)
On the other side, we have the Apache web server, MySQL database system, and PHP. They are very useful, comprehensive, and free.
If you want to write in C++, you can do so by paying through the nose for a Microsoft C++ compiler, or downloading one for free and using it on Windows, Linux, Mac, or whatever.
Java is used on most machines -- IBM, Linux, and even Microsoft. Still, Microsoft would love to convert the world to the MS SQL, dot net, MS professional server, and Visual Studio way of doing things. The Open Source folks want more... um... diversity. :-)
So, the spoof is portraying the Microsoft developers as mainstream corporate types who want nothing to do with the open source 'counterculture.'
I posted the link here because the spoof portrays the free-thinking open source people in the same light as many of the characters on the fiction that is posted here.

I still didn't see how it could be used in a Computer. Does it go where you put the CD's, or in the Memory bay?
