I'd always thought Solos were pretty much the "unsung heroes" of the site, as in most cases finding them is a bit like "hunting and pecking" - in my case, usually through the list of an author's stories in the RHS block from within one of their stories. Which, of course, effectively limits the selection to authors with a current serial. This new feature should make it easier to dive into solos by authors not currently writing a serial - so it benefits them by drawing more readers to their work, and benefits readers by alerting them to these individually wrapped, self contained stories (after all, a single luxury chocolate can be every bit as enjoyable as a boxful...)
