What a wonderful interview by a wonderful person and activist for transgender acceptance! Good Morning America ("GMA") is a workday morning news-magazine show in the U.S. with a large viewership. It's great to see such a sympathetic interview on this, the Transgender Day of Remembrance.

... so I am not attempting to view it at the time of this comment but I seriously wonder if not for his celebrity status how he would be treated, especially from within the lesbian community he came from; a lesbian community who has some heavy duty prejudice against trans-lesbians.
His experience is obviously different then for all the MtF sisters out there. For us, the muggles consider it a drop in status whereas becoming a man is the opposite. It is going to be a long time, if ever, that being trans will just be consider a part of regular life and not mere fodder for people's prejudices.
