I must apologize. Today I have started to read most of the Topshelf Summer Romance 2008 stories. I did not realize that I might have crossed some boundry by one of my characters name. So I must once again apologize to the Lady Nexus and her fans.

Character Names Are Fine!

I believe that an author should be able to name their characters what ever seems to fit. If we put author's names out of bounds there would be a lot less names to chose from.

I believe that the only place where we might wish to give respect to fellow authors and members of the TopShelf family is if we represent that a character is in actuality an author or person that is known.

In "Wayne Manor", which I was working on today to get the last 3 chapters completed, there is a cannon character in the DC Universe Batman Family called Sasha Bordeaux. I used the character and did not change the name from Sasha just becasue my name is Sasha. People know the difference between me and the character.

In the popular fiction presently being posted on this site one story, "Camp Kumoni" where there is a character named Sasha. This is a very well drawn sympathetic character. No one confuses that character with me, just becasue we share the same first name.

Even then if an actual person (Author or Reader)is used in a story as a character, it can be permissable with consulting the person for approval and it is done with good taste. I appear as a character in a story written by Joanna Dorcas which is posted to BCTS.

I haven't recieved a single PM or email regarding this. I'm guessing that my fans are as fairminded as I am and have the wisdom to separate a character from a person with the same name.

You did not represent your character to be me. Having not heard of me, how could you?
How could any fair minded person have a problem with that? I certainly do not.

All my hopes,
Sasha Zarya Nexus
