Hwaet, We Gaerdaegum in Gaerdanum...
Right... so not the start to Beowulf... anyway... I just wanted to let everyone know what was up with me. I been coming out of a massive depressive crash that my PTSD treatment kicked off. That was just like fun only not. It has been rough but at least I got some good news that helped me drag myself out of the depths of the depression for the most part.
I won a grant to pay for my surgery. Yep... I'm freaking out because I totally did not believe it would happen but sure enough it did. Why they decided I was a good person for the grant I'll never know. A lot of my friends tell me its because I am awesome and my essay was great but it's hard to tell from inside. So that has me pretty giddy.
That has given me the oomph to start sending out query letters again for my YA novel. Hopefully that goes through but I have no idea. I have been doing this for a while now but You all seem to like my writing as do the people at Crystal Hall and Fan Fiction.net and AO3, so maybe that means someone will think the story is decent. Who knows.
So that's my recent news. I'm busy trying to catch up with my professional writing but I am tinkering with 300 Rains now and again. I so desperately want to finish that, because I want to know how it ends. Here's hoping that I find the time somewhere.
Take care everyone,

Your Grant
Congratulations, dear. It seems a lot of people think you are TOTALLY awesome and deserving of this. Please keep us posted as to when the surgery is scheduled and how wonderful you feel after your recovery.

That's great news!
It just goes to show that while the universe might seem cynical and uncaring, deep down it still has a soft spot, and good things happen to good people. :)
(note: There is a small chance I might be anthropomorphizing the universe with my own personality a bit....)
Yeah, and like I don't
Yeah, and like I don't anthropomorphize the universe as well. :D

You don't subscribe to the thoughts and beliefs of Henry David Thoreau?
I'll get a life when it's proven and substantiated to be better than what I'm currently experiencing.

I subscribe to a lot of things actually. The Universe is vast and amazing and the more tools I have to cope with it helps. :D
