And what a beautiful morning it is here in County Durham! The sun is beaming down from a cloudless sky, last night's wind and rain are but a memory.

Okay, this is the plan. I'll update this blog at more or less regular intervals throughout the day. (It might be a while before any fancy stuff such as images appear, thanks to me not getting in until 3.15 a.m. after agreeing to chaperone the yummy but distinctly inebriated Helen around one or two of Sunderland's sleazier nightspots.) If it disappears off the front page I'll set up another to make it easier to find.

Excellent film. Actual title 'The Quiet Earth'.
Followed it with 'Carry On Matron', guffawed at Kenneth Williams being convinced he's about to undergo a spontaneous sex change. Fell asleep half-way through; last night's excesses have obviously caught up with me.

Christmas dinner so far has been cheese on toast. That's all my system will take at the moment.
