Lots to comment on there
As well as stuff that is beyond words. I had heard about the California religious right and their 'victim' status, and it reminded me of a change in German law.
The Germans have made an excellent decision in the case of intersex children, removing the need to register them as one or other pole of the sex binary. Previously, a decision was made at birth and the child 'adjusted' as per John Money's BS. The new system allows the child to be assessed to see which way is most appropriate for them to develop, a wonderfully child-centric and humane innovation.
Reading the 'below the line' comments on UK internet reporting, however, shows the same obsessions as in California. The most obsessively remarked-upon question is "Where do they go to the toilet?"
Here's a clue, bigots: when I use the ladies' I do what other women do. Sit down, in a cubicle with a closed door.
The Mormon Church
There is that faction in the Mormon Church that well realizes that in the past they have not treated those of our ilk very well. They have treated me wonderfully. The church is not some monolithic body that does not care about us. They well realize that their actions have caused many suicides, and want to remedy that.
They also know that anything less could lead to the spattering of my brains across the door to their Salt Lake Temple.

The last article linked("Transgender Asylum Seekers..") has me a bit confused and surprised, as it seems to be at odds with other news I have seen on US immigration policy.
First off let me say I have not really followed news on what I am about to mention. However I know several people (with varied opinions on it) who are deeply interested and have sent me links, so I have read them.
What I find odd about this is that there has been an ongoing bit of fervor over a "look the other way" policy on illegals in the US. A policy supposedly originating with President Obama connected with a move to change policies to legally allow them to stay and become citizens. This just seems extremely at odds with "Operation Streamline"(mentioned in the article) and the deportation of people for the reason that they were deported previously.
I am not really sure what to think. Was she single out as Trans or LGBT, or is she just out of luck because she was deported before the "look the other way" policy started, or because she came in through Mexico which lumped her in with the "anti migrant worker" policy which flies in the face of the "look the other way" policy.

*note: The "look the other way" policy and other related policies(and more unrelated ones too) are not within the current letter of the law. There seems to be a trend the current administration to simply barge ahead and do what it wants and then fix the laws later. And while there has been mixed public fervor There have been no major legal moves to stop this trend.
**Note on my note: I am not passing a judgement on these policies but simply observing the recent "cart before the horse" trend in US Policies. I am however confused by a lot of it.
