So... Hamlet (2000)

This is the one starring Ethan Hawke, Kyle MacLachlan, Sam Shepard, and the ever-cute Julia Stiles.

Modern day setting, original dialogue.

I love this movie. The direction is intentionally ham-handed. The soundtrack is banal. As is Hamlet's monologues being done mostly as video blogs.

But the best part. The. Best. Part. Is Bill Murray as Polonius doing the "neither a lender nor a borrower be" speech, to Liev Schreiber playing Laertes.

Fantastic cast. Steve Zahn plays Rosencrantz.

It's weird, it's quirky, but I love it.
