Got laid off today. Money was tight before. Now? Time to prepare for the siege.
I had this job for almost 12 years. Got a decent severance, which is going to help a lot.
Last job I had for 24 years. I hope this is not the beginning of a mathematical progression.
I'm still trying to loose weight, that last 10 pounds is turning out to be a real challenge. Still, 80 pounds lost isn't bad.
I'll survive. If this had happened 10 months ago I suspect I would not have been strong enough to carry on. I've improved a lot since then.
For those who missed the previous announcement I used to be OddPOV.

You're not alone, Wendy Jean ...
I was let go, supposedly because the agency I used to work for lost a major client and decided to take the opportunity to show this girl the door. *sigh* Loyalty from employers is hard to come by, but I'm chasing other opportunities as a freelancer, writing for a few hours every day, and spending time with my daughter and my husband, who is currently on an extended unpaid vacation sponsored by Ted Cruz, the official House candidate for village idiot. *grin*
Still, we'll get by. And so will you. *hugs*

Ah, Ted Cruz...
I am glad I have a new drivers license with my old name and new picture. While I can't vote against him directly (I think, maybe I can) I do not want to be disenfranchised by Texas's new voter ID law. You might say I was part of their target audience. Not that it means much, I'm pretty much outnumbered, but someone has to fight the good fight. I could just see getting my name / gender marker change, getting a new drivers license, and then not being allowed to vote. So, I will keep both IDs while I get caught up on the massive amounts of paperwork that is about to come my way.
Best of luck
Keep at it, and hope you can find something new soon. You're certainly not alone. It sounds like you've got a good work history, if you could stay at some jobs so long, so hopefully you'll be in high demand.
Keep the spirits up, and good luck again,
Titania
Lord, what fools these mortals be!
good luck
with the job search, it seems job insecurity is the new black!

hugs, Wendy
I'll be praying you find a new job quickly, and I wanted to say you look lovely in the pic.
Thank you...
I am still a work in progress.
Been there, done that
I've been laid off seven times in the last 25 years and it is never easy.

Hang on in there Wendy!
You're just going to have to hang on in there but a word of caution in the jobs market. You'll be okay presenting a bold front to the potential employer but be careful, you've got a bear (bare) behind.
LOL.
