New book idea and a Typhoon

Well, I am sitting in a hotel in Linkou, Taiwan, staring down the barrel of a Cat 3 Typhoon. So, I thought writing would be something to do, instead of watching the windows flex a lot more than I thought glass was capable of. I have a new book on the story board, and I would like to share the concept of it see if I could get some feedback on the interest. It will be a bit different than anything else I have done, but probably not that much so. Anyway, below is the introduction. I hope it is not too big for a blog. Would like some thoughts on the concept. Thanks.

For eons, the war has raged, maybe before the beginning of known time. Despite the length of the battle, neither side has lost a life, spilled a drop of blood, or lost an inch of ground. Yet, the war rages. Neither of the combatants has set a foot in the other’s dimension, as this is not a battle for the respective home lands. The battle rages for domination of a third dimension, a neutral dimension, a dimension that can only be entered through birth, and in the form of a human. The dimension that both are wishing to dominate is known as the dimension of man.

Every child born in the dimension of man is a receptacle, a carrier of an entity from one of the warring dimensions. That entity becomes the child’s soul, his spirit, his life force. Though the child’s soul has no memory of its previous existence, or of the other dimensions, it guides the child as a warrior against those from the opposing dimension, without knowing why. When the human carrier dies in the earth dimension, regardless of the cause, the soul is released, and returns to its originating dimension to await rebirth, to start the cycle over.

The history of man has shown these battles to take many forms, from massive wars between countries, religions, or races, to individual wars against neighbors, strangers, and friends. The philosophical have had minor insight to the true war, and have given it many names. It has been called the war of the Gods, Heaven and Hell, or the eternal battle of good versus evil. Regardless of its name, the war rages on.

Those in the warring dimensions have long since understood that the war cannot be won by attrition. Millions and millions have died, only to have their souls recycled and reborn to repeat the process again. Domination can only be obtained if a portal could be opened, a portal that would allow the occupants of the outer dimension to enter the dimension of man, without the human receptacle. These free warriors could then drive the opposition out of the dimension of man, and prevent their re-entry.

How to create such a portal has been known to both sides since the beginning, but involved a barrier that neither side has been able to overcome. A portal can only be opened by a Devine soul, and a Devine soul can only enter the dimension of man by the willful breeding to of two Regent souls. The barrier that has yet to be overcome, is Regent souls can only enter the dimension of man as male humans, thus making the breeding impossible. Despite the myths and legends, neither side is magical, nor can they turn water into wine, lead into gold, or a man into a woman.

In a biomedical research facility, on the outskirts of Chicago, a tragic accident occurs, and two prominent researchers lose their lives. A third researcher is left in critical condition, but alive. The true magnitude of the accident is only known to the warring dimensions, as one of the researchers that lost his life was a Regent soul. However, as a result of the accident, his life force was transferred to the body of the surviving female researcher. The stage is set for the epic race that ensues as one side attempts to get the new female Regent to accept her role, and the other side races to destroy her, and learn the secrets of the transfer. What neither side understands is the power of a female Regent, when she uses her Life Force.
