Progress report on my daughter

My daughter is in hospital and goes down for surgery tomorrow morning. Her tumour is in C1/C2 so right at the top of her spine. As I can't do anything except worry, I shall go and see her at the weekend when I hope she'll be alert enough to at least recognise me or know that I came to see her.

She is very frightened and given the circumstances, I would be, too. In fact I am but from a sightly different perspective. I can't even send her flowers because that unit has a no flowers policy.

There is still snow about which worries me a little, although I am going to see her if I have to walk the hundred miles. It took me over an hour to get home tonight, some cars got stuck on a Z bend hill in the snow. I managed to turn around and come home by a different route after some chap going the other way warned me. It took longer but I got here, eventually which was when I got the text from my daughter about her op tomorrow.

Tomorrow is going to be a very long day.

Good thoughts

I will be thinking about you and your daughter.

Take care of yourself so you can be there for her when your help and presence will be most meaningful.

Hugs,
Erin

Angharad, I am sending my good thoughts and wishes to you and your daughter. Be safe on the roads in the snow.

{I leave a trail of Kudos as I browse the site. Be careful where you step!}

Best wishes ...

... to you both and all your family. The snow's not too bad here (the buses were running through our village today) but I know the SW and Wales have had a bit more so just take care if you're driving; it won't help your daughter if you have an accident.

I'll be thinking of you.

Hugs, Sis!

I haven't said much, but that doesn't mean I've not been thinking of you. 'Twill all be over by morning time here no doubt, so hopefully there will be good news by then. Take care, both of you!

Paper flowers?

My mother was in a ward with the same rules. The answer - paper flowers.

Glad you managed...

Glad you managed to get home (and some chap was nice enough to provide the warning)! (I mean, how else would we have gotten our Bike fix...)

I understand your fears! I hope your daughter is with it enough to recognize and remember you are there! It's never easy when our children have issues. I wish both of you well! I hope the surgery is easier than the Surgeons expect, and fully successful!

Annette

P.S. The last time I was incarcerated (I mean in the hospital), flowers were nice, but the things I appreciated more were some photos of family, familiar tooth brush/paste (Yes, a razor and cream as well, toward the end... I've still got some facial hair that hasn't been dealt with - and other amenities.) Alot of stuff they won't let her have. One thing I was able to get was a REAL pillow. It didn't solve the uncomfortable bed issue (but she won't care about that for a little while), but having MY pillow made sleeping easier/more comfortable.

Balloons

I pray she will be OK in GODs hands and the doctors hands should be guided by GOD.

Fingers crossed

I've got my fingers, toes and eyes crossed for her. It makes driving really difficult, though. I sounds like yours is worse than mine. So, don't try it.

I'm sure everone's thoughts and hopes are with her.

Thank you for keeping us informed.

Take very good care of yourself. She'll need you.

My hopes go out to both of you.

This must feel like it has been going on for ages. I do hope that tomorrow will show good results. I will be praying for you. BTW, could you provide your daughter's First name?

Much peace

Gwendolyn

I left a comment.

I left a comment last night Ang. But somehow, I failed to get it to post.

It concerned the conditions on the roads in South East Wales. The main roads are all clear around the M4 and Eastern avenue and as you know, the University hospital has an emergency connection right onto the Dualled Eastern Avenue so driving from the bridge to the hospital is releatively easy. As always, it's the side roads and urban streets that are unpredictable.

Take care and I hope everything turns out okay.

Hugs.

Bev.

Ang, by now I assume she in in or has had her surgery

I pray -- for what it is worth from me -- that they get all of the tumor so that there will be no recurence, cancerous or not, and that her spine and brain have not suffered permanent injury. And that there are no complications.

Damage that high on the spine could be devastating.

And you take care of your health too, Ang.

When health crisis happen often the care taker(s) get so stressed they fall ill.
