So I thought I would have some enjoyment in this sad trip and relate my travels. Got on the train and all was well, till we stopped in Battle Creek Michigan and they had to call the fire department for an electrical fire in one of the cars. Almost an hour later we left. Got to one station and they missed it by a block or two. Had to back up to get people.almost to Chicago and with the fact we are late, it shortens my wait in union station, that is good.

Got here at 7:05. Trip is going well, my aunt and her daughter (Aunt is moms sister) is picking me up at the train station after they arrive by plane (aunt) and car from LA (cousin) Nothing too bad in this train, except one of the guys sitting near me has terminal cancer and this is his last wish, to see the Pacific again.
So now the Rockies and the trip to Salt Lake. Oddly enough, Denver is devoid of snow, as almost all of Illinois.
Edit. Moving once more, tonight we should be in Salt Lake City.
Talked to Dad about the funeral arrangements and wanted some opinions, and I think he was thankful I called so he could ask someone. I am glad I will be there for him, I can only imagine what this is doing to him

I know we each deal with our pain a different way. Mine is comedy. But my dad was so tied to her, I know he needs a level head and one that isn't my brothers.
