The following information has been release. I'm just being the messenger. Apparently JAVA has a lot of problems currently. Here is the article. http://www.nbcnews.com/technology/technolog/us-warns-java-so...
Erin or any other moderators if I should have let you know before hand, I apologize.

For those that use JAVA...
Yes, I saw that in the news thanks. I just added 'NoScript' addon to my Firefox to handle JAVA.
Javascript != Java
Jut an FYI, NoScript disables JavaScript not JAVA and they are 2 completely different things. While they share a common language structure, javascript engines used by browsers are not managed/written/maintained by oracle, and in fact, when Google took Apple's WebKit engine, the first thing they did was re-write the JavaScript engine from scratch for performance and security upgrades.
Continuing Browser problems.
So, a few years ago IE got to be such a dog that I moved to Google Chrome and it worked lightning fast and was great. Then about three months ago, Chrome tanked and won't even work on some sites, especially not Youtube. It's an issue because certain sites demand I use chrome but when I go somewhere else I have to switch back to IE. It's sort of a pain, but I have just been tolerating it.

Re: Continuing Browser Problems
I use Firefox with the AdBlock Plus and NoScript add-ons and would highly recommend it over IE. You can get it here:

NoScript
I've been using NoScript as my preferred blocker for years, but I shut it off last night. At least at present, they've removed the granularity from it, so I can't pick and choose what sites I want to block. It's a "block all from this site" or "allow all from this site", and that's worse than useless.
I'll get a life when it's proven and substantiated to be better than what I'm currently experiencing.
I have a NoScript button on
I have a NoScript button on the toolbar that, when selected, allows me to specify which URLs on a page are allowed to run scripts. (I'm running Firfox 18.0.) I can set the permissions as temporary or permanent, and can revoke permission for any URL. Would that solve your problem?
Really?
Which browser / NoScript version are you using?
I'm using Firefox 18 (Linux 64-bit) + NoScript 2.6.4.2 and it still has the granularity that I'm used to (incidentally, I've allowed all four from here: bigclosetr.us, Project Wonderful, Google APIs and Google Analytics)

re: Really?
I'm running Firefox 18.0 on Windows 7 Home Premium with NoScript 2.6.4.2, so it appears that the only difference between us is the OS. I believe I added the button to the toolbar by using Options -> Toolbar Layout to get to get to the Customize Toolbar screen, and then dragged the button onto the toolbar from the listed options.
Firefox for Ubuntu (kubuntu)
Firefox for Ubuntu (kubuntu) 17.0.1, with NoScript 2.6.4.2 (32 bit Kubuntu)
I don't bother with a toolbar, because I use the 'right click' method, then generally I'd scroll down to the trusted/untrusted and block what I wanted. I even purged my cache and history (a years worth :) ) to see if that fixed it. It didn't.
So I decided I'd wait until the next revision to see if it showed back up. I -Might- uninstall it and put it back on again to see if that makes a difference.

What is this NoScript that
What is this NoScript that y'all are talking about?
NoScript is an Addon
to the browser for Firefox (you get it by going to Firefox menu / Tools / Addons / Get Addons. Search for NoScript. It blocks advertising by killing the scripting that enables it. I use Ad Block Plus.

NoScript doesn't block Advertising
NoScript doesn't block advertising... it blocks JavaScript. Some advertising agents use JavaScript to insert targeted advertising but not all do.
From what I've seen, it
From what I've seen, it blocks _all_ scripting, including Java, Javascript, and Flash. I have to allow flash sites and all sorts of other things to run, otherwise they don't work.
I'll get a life when it's proven and substantiated to be better than what I'm currently experiencing.
There's also...
...YesScript, which works in the opposite way to NoScript. There may also be alternatives available
NoScript is a whitelist - i.e. block everything by default, you tell it which sites you want to allow.
YesScript is a blacklist - i.e. allow everything by default, you tell it which sites you want to block.
For those that use Chrome / Chromium, there's an extention called NotScripts, which is inspired by and has similar functionality to NoScript (but is not affiliated with the FF add-on and works differently behind the scenes as Chrome / Chromium's API isn't as flexible as Firefox's).

According to Avira...
Their Antivirus heuristics engine was already able to detect and prevent infection through whatever hole in Java it is that needs plugging.
This is why I use Avira... Even with their incredibly spammy interface.
