But why punish the innocent for the transgressions of a few? Why not just block them, forever if you like, and leave the rest of us be? I appreciate that it may be that I just don't understand what's going on. So, feel free to enlighten me, Erin or anyone else that cares to!

I believe it's called 'making a point'. Keep in mind that there could be a lot of people involved, and just banning one user, or even one IP, won't stop that user from creating a new account and coming back in again. I personally would have liked to be on the site, but I definitely think that Erin has the right to do as she pleases. If she decides she doesn't want to deal with it, I might try to then take some of the burden over, if asked. If she shuts it _down_... I might ask for a copy of the database for personal use :)
In any case, it's under her control, and she's the one that needs to be happy with what goes on.
I'll get a life when it's proven and substantiated to be better than what I'm currently experiencing.

From what I read - off and on during the day - it sounded like Erin wasn't explicitly punishing the non-transgressors... She was giving herself breathing room so she could reduce her level of anger so she could deal with the situation "rationally"...
It IS her site, and I for one am glad it's here. I've benefited a lot from it.
While I'm curious as to what set things off, it's probably none of my business... I just hope I'm never one to trigger such an event.

tend to forget that this place is here because of Erin and as such there are rules. Erin has the choice to do with this site as she chooses regardless of what we say. i am happy she chose to go back on line for the benefit of us all. so to put it plainly respect the rules. that's my opinion any way

Erin as the Owner and Moderator deals with all of the problems that we do not see or know about. I totally support her actions to keep this site a Family Site. As a member, I do what I can to support her. Please, if any have any issues with a fellow member, do not cause a problem for Erin

and she can do with it what she will. She had to put it back up for me to be able to go to my blog and do my 'bitch & whine' schtick. Unfortunately, B&W seems to be the only avenue available to me to be part of this situation. E.g., I have no idea how to contact Erin directly; I can only post on this blog and hope that she reads it. [Sigh!]
