While looking through things, and seeing some criticism about the fact, I notice that I am inconsistent on replying to comments and feedback. Some authors make it a habit of replying to every comment they get, I am more picky and choosy.
It doesn't mean that I don't like comments and feedback, in fact I love it. I just figure the appreciation would be assumed and I wouldn't have to say thank you to every single feedback. I actually have reasons for this. One, I try not to run up my comment tally, this way when I go back on my work I can see the chapters that got the most feedback without the numbers being skewed by me saying thank you or getting into a conversation with someone. Second, I really try to use commenting for when I am clarifying something or answering a direct question. Thirdly, I figure that once a person reads a piece and comments, they don't go back to read the comment section, so my thanking them falls on deaf ears.
I know this puts some people off, but it's how I feel comfortable using my art. But I wanted to clarify, yes I do appreciate comments and kudos. I am a bit of a numbers whore like a few others, but I try to keep things in balance.

Well I try to answer my comments.
As a rule because to me my stories is like reading them to a crowd at a coffee shop and there's the readers that are the crowd the the commenters that are the ones who come to the stage to talk to you.
My earlier stuff no i was too bashful then.
Now i only respond to comments that are sort of my business if there's a back and forth between two other people I'll stay out of it sometimes.
But I check comments I've made to see if they commented back.
Heck sometimes reading the comments section pulls me to read a story.

I haven't posted any works yet,
so I can't -at this point- say what my policies on comments will be like.
However, I keep my track page permanently open in it's own tab and I often refresh it several times a day. Whenever someone (be they the author or another commentor) replies to one of my comments, I will know about it within hours. It NEVER falls on deaf ears. You could say I'm very purr-ceptive. :)
I tend to lose interest in giving a particular author comments (or at least in addressing them directly) when they don't reply to me, especially when my comment contains an actual question. I never have that problem with Bailey (Summers OR Taylor, now that I mention it). In fact, to work out how many comments he's gotten for a particular chapter, I just halve the number! ^_^
