I've got some ideas for names for the NPO/Corp we've been talking about. Two of them are names I already have domains registered for:

BigLittle.Us

and

StarStuffR.Us

I think either would be appropriate. Do people have preferences? Other suggestions?

I like Inklusion. It has a nice literary subtlety to it... and presents itself as a much more serious/professional venture than some of the other suggestions.

Inklusion sounds good to me...

Inklusion is good

Especially for a publishing concern. Only problem is it and several of its variations were snapped up by a German social net last year. Not that they are doing anything with them yet. How about inQlusion? Not as good.

i think anything that pays

i think anything that pays tribute to bob would be nice and he would like all of you to keep his memory alive

I like StarStuff...

as a tribute to Bob.

Since this effort is planned to incorporate many different forms of product, I would suggest StarStuff Media.

I like the 'r.us' for the web sites and understand how you would want to have that in the company name. My concern is that folks who aren't already familiar with us might not really have any sort of clue as to what the business was or what it did.

While Kermit's (in Muppets Take Manhatten) idea for promoting soap ("it gets you clean!") seems trite and obvious, there are benefits in keeping things simple.

My tuppence for what it's worth,

Star type names

Although I like the idea of honoring Bob I think any name using 'star' in it runs the risk of being mistaken for having an entertainment (i.e. Hollywood) association.

Perhaps something along the lines of Gender Dreams Foundation would work.

I hesitate to be so blunt with the naming

People do surf these sites at work and such and don't like to leave clues lying around. Myself, I'd think a site with Star in the name would have something to do with astronomy as likely as Hollywood. :) But I don't consider either association a disqualifier.

StarStuffR.US

I personally like that title in that I'd like to share my stories with a few Muggles and that title would give little clue about the content. That way I could publish my work and if someone wanted to publish explicit stories at the same site, I'd not be associated with that. I am really trying to be more main stream, and know that I have a couple stories that are explicit, so please don't think I am throwing stones.

Corporation Name

I know I'm a little slow and my thinking is sometimes considered to be waaaay out in left field, but consider this. If you think of each of the pieces of this proposed corporation as small colored gems, Big Closet, StarDust, Chrystal Hall, Tuckerspawn, Fictioneer, . . . , along with the proposed publishing company, put them all together into a tube and look through them. What you would have could resemble a kaleidoscope. Although in this case it would be a kaleidoscope of literature.

How about KaleidINKscope or Kaleid-INK-scope as an overall corporate name?

Just thinking out loud as it were.

I still think StarStuff is a winner to honor Bob, but I do like the Kaleidoscope / KaliedINKscope thinking...

Just as clarification, this new site, would not host stories, would not be a new fiction site, and would essentially just act as a place-holder for the NonProfit/Corporation.

IT would act as an entity that would be in charge of finding suitable hosting/upstream bandwidth and protecting any assets bequeathed to the NP/Corp as I understand it.

We aren't talking about starting a new fiction site, Stardust, BCTS, Fictioneer and the other sites that Bob hosted and Erin currently hosts for others would stay the same. On top of this we might fold in some new sites that fit the same genre/qualifications depending on how things go.

The Biggest change I see would be maybe a tagline of "Part of the -insert name here- foundation".

HuGgLeS and hope this clarifies this a bit for some.
