So just a quick update on the college front, since I promised a few of you I'd keep you posted when I knew something.
Essentially, I'm going to wait until the summer to start classes. I know this sounds like a cop-out, or that I'm backing out again, but really, it's not, and I actually owe you guys for it not being so for once :-)
Basically what's happened is ... well, it's EXTREMELY complicated. Life happened, again. The college never sent me the college prep package they were supposed to send, my student ID is locked to a specific advisor at my old college so I have to get in touch with him. There's more to it than that.
On top of that one of my mother's dear friends has cancer, and they haven't given her very long, so that's just a little bit hard on all of us, even though I don't even know her that well.
Like I said: it's complicated.
So what I'm going to do is I'm going to take this semester and try and figure out every avenue I can find to pay for college, through grants, scholarships, whatever it takes, but I do not want to take out a student loan if I can avoid it. That's a last resort as far as I'm concerned.
This also gives me more time to focus on my writing for now. When I go back I plan on going full-time, taking as many classes as my financial aid allows. I was so depressed for so long that I didn't give a mouse's diddy about anyone or anything, least of all myself.
TopShelf has, in many, many ways, helped me to get beyond that, and I can never express in words how much that means to me. I feel like I have my life back. All that's left is to start undoing the damage. :-)

Zoe I have to wait a year and a half to to go to the university I want due to something they neglecter to tell me so I know the feeling I can't get any financhal aid ecept for loans where I'm at now its all Politics trust me I've seen too much of it at ath school I'm at now. been there since '95 :( so I know the feeling. I have confidence in you hun I know you can do it, Spring semester isn't the time to start anyway so you are making the right decision the fall semester is when all the scolerships are awarded. it sucks but... for the summer semester just fyi 8 hours is considered full time, compared to fall & spring where is is 12 hours (But this I'm shure you already know). I'm proud of you Zoe I really am for putting your self first, I'm glat that BC/TS has given you a release for all your pent up emotions so keep doing what your doing for now & know that we your loyal readers do care about you & wish the best for you.
I'm sorry to here about your mom's friendif she needs help cleaning her house & if she is on chemo I have some information that may help a friend sent it to me so I'll have to email it to you so ask your mom if she needs this help then PM me please.
