It's a lip-sync music video made by a high school, using the talents of the entire student body. Everyone. Together. With gusto. Nerds, geeks, jocks, the swim team in speedos, stoners, preppies, goths, cheerleaders, staff. Everyone. It makes me giddy.
Oh, and they did it backwards!

Amazing
We often read in the media how the world is going to hell in a handcart. Yet, here we have young people with the ability, enthusiasm and drive to surprise and delight me. And the great thing is - that throughout the world, they're still doing it.

Beautiful
This made me cry which seems weird but it's all just so intense and satisfying.

Awesome!
The lip syncing was really pretty good, especially considering the fact that it was shot backwards. The level of enthusiasm was really a treat.

I cried for her.
I cried for me.
I cried for a world that wouldn’t let her be.

Backstory, Reaction, Impact
Just in case anyone is interested in the story behind the video, I found a bit of background in their local newspaper:

As that wasn't where I originally found the link, I think this little high school is going to be pretty famous soon. The link is proliferating!
Nice mini-review from MovieLine: http://www.movieline.com/2009/12/remember-the-musical-sequen...
keep on truckin
Not only was this video the funnest I've seen in a while, it was a technical tour de force. Amazing how the whole thing was one long pan, an elaborately choreographed scene that had to be played through from start to finish, and if any of those actors tripped or ran into something while they were walking and singing backwards, everyone would've had to pick up their stuff and start over. It's something that even professional filmmakers don't seem to try very often. Altman's opening scene of The Player was like this, and there was one musical number in De-Lovely that followed a whole bunch of different characters around for this long, but I can't think of many. It was a shot worthy of Stanley Kubric, who loved to take his dolly for a stroll- like those endless trips down the trenches in Paths of Glory. I think Stanley would be proud of what these kids managed to pull off. And it was fun!
