Medical malpractice
"Nurse! I said remove his spectacles" comes to mind for some reason...

This is a funny "picture story".
There is a very current situation going on in the Air Force that is a SUPER SERIOUS mal-practice on a young 22 year old Airman. Sadly, due the "Feres Doctrine", a 1950 US Supreme Court decision, that prohibits military personnel from suing military doctors; neither this Airman nor his family can sue for medical mal-practice. Short story: He went in for a gall bladder surgery and now has had BOTH legs removed. Tho initially at the knee, quite possibly his right leg will have to be completely removed to the hip which will not allow him the use of a prothesis on that leg. His left leg is off just above the knee (so far). How did this happen you ask. Well, it seems the doctor, who WAS NOT certified for the procedure she used, which was doing the surgery via a probe/scope nicked the Aorta and thus caused blood loss to the legs. Apparently, there is a 5 hour MAX window of loss of blood before the leg tissues completely die and you lose them. They WAITED over three hours BEFORE telling his wife in the waiting room, called a medi-vac chopper to take him from Travis AFB to UC Davis for repairs and even tho the chopper arrived within 40 mins of the call, they waited ANOTHER 2 hours BEFORE placing him on the chopper?????? All this was after he had been in the surgery theatre for nearly 3 hours in and of itself. So by the time he got to UC Davis Hospital, his legs were "toast". As you can all believe, there are several major investigations going on, but that doesn't really do this young lad and his wife any good. As a Retired AF member myself, I have this young Airman in my prayers and thoughts. Anyone else may do as well, if they wish to. Hugs to All, Janice Lynn Miller
Looks Familiar
I haven't had anything that contrary to my wishes done, BUT the cartoon reminds me of two surgeons who were supposedly trying to improve my appearance. They did not do what I requested and made things worse instead of better.
I blame myself for not being more assertive initially then not doing anything about the situation after the fact. I've almost always been afraid to stand up to authority figures, especially male ones.
Ah well, so it goes.
Bright Blessings,

This is the same kind of idiot
who, in 1968, decided that he could cure my 'unnatural desire to be a woman' by showing me photos of my head stuck onto catalogue pages of dresses, while sending jolts of electricity through me. Obviously successful!
