So last night the wife and I had dinner out - not all that unusual. As we were leaving, a guy held the door for me, then complimented me on my shirt and earrings.
Folks, in real life I'm a very large, fat old man with a full, gray beard. Could I possibly been reverse-read? Did he somehow see my inner woman?
I did appreciate the compliment, though.

Perhaps
He doesn't care about your perceived gender, he just liked your shirt and earrings. He saw two speecific items (the shirt and earrings) he thought looked nice and felt like saying so. A genuine, unsolicited compliment is a nice thing to receive. If you see something nice, then say something nice. It costs nothing and makes the other person feel good. Sounds like a win-win to me.

The Spirit Within the Mortal
Take a leap of faith in what can't be seen by the five senses. Most do that every time they write a story of fiction. There are those who sense the spirit or soul which is different from the visual most see. Is our imagination truly that far off? Do we write in the fiction genre so we won't be laughed at or derided as insane by the non believers, those who can't believe and they don't want anyone else to either. Some are blessed with gifts others refuse to accept or believe. Stopping to visit a fortune teller is done in fun. We all know the future can't be seen or told. It hasn't happened yet and time is linear. Thus the future doesn't exist as surely as the past can't be redone. We live in a time space continuum we name "now".
Was the gentleman being polite or is he one of those most people don't want to believe? I'm guessing he read the soul within. He let you know in the most careful way possible. You weren't embarrassed and your beautiful wife didn't need to feel slighted.
One of my unusual gifts is failing with age. No longer do I see a person's past lives the instant I touch them. Now it takes time and long long seconds of pulling back from the world before the movies or pictures start. I no longer volunteer telling a person about their past lives. They must ask me now. Can't pull them out and hand them over so all readings are free just as they should be. Not possible for me to read another person like in your experience. Not my gift. From what I have read of your stories which I do get impressions from of the writers. The gentleman was spot on in his reading.
Hugs Ricky, isn't life interesting no matter who we are or what we believe or don't believe?

I know things are tough in
I know things are tough in the USA right now. What with the anti-trans laws some states seem to want to pass. But not everyone is out to get you. Some guys are nice. He may have read you, he may not. Maybe he likes trans or TV/CD ladies. There are a lot of them about.
Or he could have just been a nice guy who saw a way to brighten your day. Words cost nothing but can make us smile or cry.
