I have no idea of title or author:

In this story, our protagonist is a long time cross-dresser whose wife knows, but doesn't particularly like it but allows it. Our hero(ine) attends Southern Comfort (I think that she regularly attends) They have a friend who is a (I think) a professional football player. Said friend is a closet gay man. He feels he needs to keep up appearances and tries to present as a heterosexual, but hates it as that makes him an attraction to females who would love to have a well known celeb as a boyfriend. This friend somehow happens to see a photo from Southern Comfort in which our MC is featured en femme and very recognizable.

This friend shows up with a copy of the photo to ask a favor and sort of blackmails (or implies blackmail) the MC and his/her wife into granting the favor. Said favor is to act as an escort for him at functions that it would be expected for him to have a date.

The story get complicated from there and at one point the MC and wife separate and the MC moves in with the friend. The MC maintains his heterosexual status and is told by the friend's casual gay friends with benefits that it's a shame the MC isn't gay because if that were the case the friend wouldn't need anyone else.

The wife meantime is seen in the company of a very attractive man.

There are many other complications that resolve themselves by the end of the story.
