I have much to be thankful for this year - I have survived yet another year, it appears that my immunotherapy has been successful in that I have been cancer free for over a year and a half, the reaction which I had to the immunotherapy seems to have settled down and I am no longer in constant pain from my joints, my mobility has returned to very nearly 100% of what it was previously, and I am still surrounded by my family.

Yes, not everything has gone well, but I am not complaining. As we approach another holiday season, my life could be so much worse than it is - and that is definitely something to be thankful for.

I look around myself every day and it takes but a moment for me to realize just how blessed I truly am.

I also want to give thanks to all of my friends here on BCTS. Were it not for those that I have been priveleged to meet here and to call friends, I would not have survived the past six or seven years. To all my friends here, both those who are still present and those who have passed on, I give thanks. For having known you all has made me a better person and the woman I am today.

Most of all, I am thinking of those I have lost and I give thanks for the privilege of having known them. And for my brothers in arms, save me a seat at the bar for I will be along soon enough. But not just yet - I still have things to do before I go.

Thankful for…

Good days, those who remind us of good in days we struggle to find it, friends, time with them, friendly places to find them, and those who keep up these places. To be clear: you’re included if you are reading this, whether or not you celebrate today’s US holiday.
