My just over two year old baby cat Willow passed away Thursday night Friday morning. He got into something he shouldn’t have, not the brightest cat, and after five days of not eating I gave him to vet. He died that night at vet.

I tried really hard to get him to eat but it didn’t work. I can’t seem to stop crying at odd times.

To make matters worse my uncle passed away as well. Yet another family member dead and funeral.

Willow was fluffy with tufts on his ear tips making him so cute and I was his mommy as far as he was concerned. He loved to cuddle with me and would always sit on my chest and try to breast feed on my pillow while snuggled up on my chest. He was born under my front steps and after two weeks his mother abandoned him and his brother. We first met when I heard a baby kitten crying in my back yard searching for mommy barely able to walk. It’s been a long road of vet bill for parasite, bottle feeding and cleaning. Shots then fix, fighting with kittkat, tons of torn cardboard and playing with everything.

It’s so fresh and it really hurts. I still have my nine year old kittkat.

I feel for you sweetie,

we just lost a cat ourselves, but he had lived a good long life. We also have two very young kittens that found our home, way too young and searching for a mommy. We are keeping one, and if you lived in Southern California, I would have been happy to give you the other. They do crawl into our hearts, don't they? Hugs to you dear one.

Sorry for your loss

I had a one year old die a couple of years ago. He apparently had already had an infectious disease before I got him and it manifested over the year. He was super sweet and cuddly. His big sister took to him quickly and they were buddies. I found when I lost him it hurt more than when I lost an older cat. The 14 year old who died suddenly of lymphoma a few months before I got the kitten.

I still get sad when I think of him despite my now current 1 1/2 year old. Who is also super sweet and loving. Who was also taken in by his big sister quickly. When the time is right you can always open your heart to another furry child and companion for your nine year old.

It was painful, but it led me to my little guy and the big sister who loves him and bathes him all the time when he isn't chasing her.

So very sorry ....

It's very, very hard when they have to leave us ... I know words help but little...

May all Beings be happy.
May all Beings be well.
May all Beings be free of pain.

May all Beings be Loved, in this World, and in the Next.

We all grieve in different ways; there is no 'right' or 'wrong' way.

When your heart is ready, I hope you can find another Companion. (The shelters are always overflowing...) And perhaps one will 'pick you', as did Willow.

Not as a 'replacement' - our hearts don't work that way. But as a new friend, someone in need of your 'fur-ever' home.

You have my total sympathy, and nothing can take away that hurt and sorrow.
It hurts badly enough when a precious little cat passes, if they have had a long and happy life, but to lose a young one, yes, that leaves a huge cat shaped hole in your life and a bigger hole in your heart.
Willow sounds like a wonderful friend, but at least you gave him all your love so that he had a good and happy life.
I am crying as I write this, but a very very dear friend said to me when we lost one of our precious cats that "they will be waiting for you at the rainbow bridge" and that thought gave me comfort.
