Does anybody out there know a person with the handle Jdunn58? This person has recently filed a review of a book I published on Amazon and has clearly not read it.
"Just childish writing" ... OK. That's opinion. I can live with that.
"I know this author from Fictionmania...Never have you heard any one author toot their own horn about their work" ... OK. Probably not accurate, but I am not offended.
"...most every idea is taken from someone else" Hang on a minute. Which ideas? Which someone?
"...Writes a few lines based on another's work, then brags about how many "stories" they have written. The back of a serial box has as many words as their stories". Ah, you are talking about my short tales inspired by captioned images that I post regularly on Fictionmania? Certainly this person did not read this book and probably did not check the contents page and the number of pages in it.
And the title of this diatribe? "Just Mostly Stolen Ideas".
That is an allegation of plagiarism, and this is not the first time.
Once again, for all those who do not understand the term, plagiarism is passing off the work of another as your own.
My takes on captioned images reproduce the work that inspired and name the author where known (seeking them where not). That is the very opposite of plagiarism.
But this book was all original stories. At 16 stories, 229 pages and 64,200 words it is an awful lot of cereal boxes. But to my knowledge there is not a single story that is not an original with nothing but my own prose.
So who is Jdunn58? Please identify yourself and make precise allegations of my literary crimes contained in my book of other crimes.
I am sure that there are authors out there that will feel as affronted as I am in being accused of what is the most serious allegation that can be leveled against any writer.
If anybody knows this individual please us all a favor and stand with me in calling them out.

Please give a good review to "Romance and Other Crimes"

In the world of Amazon Kindle both good and bad reviews are protected. Right now if you please, give a good review to "Romance and Other Crimes" and help support BCTS. We must spread the good news that this is a great book to buy and read.

Any review should not attack the first reviewer, For one thing Amazon won't post the review if another reviewer is attacked rather than just sticking to the book's subject matter. Please starve the first reviewer of their craved attention, by ignoring the first review.

Even if the first review is removed by Amazon, there is still value in posting good reviews.

Reviewed books are recommended more often to buyers resulting in more sales. Since the book in question is a Dopplerpress book, at least part of each sale goes to support BCTS. Posting a review is possible if you have purchased a certain amount from Amazon and you are not part of the author or publisher's household and it can be done anonymously if you desire.

I would like to recommend Maryanne Peter's book, "Romance and other crimes". Maryanne has demonstrated a talent for creating characters that are fully fleshed out using an economy of words. Her stories demonstrate her absolute skill. It amazes me how she breathes new and original life in every story that she tells. When ever I see a story written by Maryanne, I know that I will be enjoying a well written serendipity and an excellent read. Do yourself a favor and buy and read, "Romance and Other Crimes".

So, please give a good review to "Romance and Other Crimes" and help support BCTS!

Truth and Justice Must Prevail...

Thank you Jo Dora for making the call, and thanks to those who responded to it.
As I explained to Erin and Sephrena, I made the mistake last year of observing (not crowing) that I had more stories posted on Fictionmania than anybody else. Whoops. I got some heavy hate very quickly, and it seems that some still lingers.
But this book "Romance and Other Crimes" has none of the exercises in drawing threads from the (fully attributed) work of others. All my crime stories are original and some involve complex plots and very interesting characters - all out of my head and my head only. People may recognize some that have appeared here such as "Sprung" and "Births Deaths and Marriages". And there are new stories like "Progression" and "Crime of Love" which are just as unique, I think.
Hugs to you all...

Besides the captions that you include most of the times in your stories, you forgot to mention the other source of inspiration, the one that comes from challenges from other writers or readers that provide an idea as a seed for one of your stories. To all of us that have paid attention to your stories, it is really clear that whoever put the review is a moron. Starting with the fact that in the very fist sentence for the description of the book clearly states a collection of short stories.

I have added my review, which should help in making the other one more insignificant.

Hugs
