Don't...
Worry too much. If you are reasonably healthy, you should heal up easily. I think I was so excited I didn't need much in the way of pain relief. Are they going to give you an inflateable doughnut to sit on? Dialation is/was a pain for some of us; my tissue was sort of numb from the surgery, so not much pain.
Sorry about the spelling; I'M 72 and my cognition and memory are both kind of going away.
Hugs and Bright Blessings,

Donut cushions
Hi Renee,
My partner had her surgery 21 years ago and I had mine 16 years ago.
Rachel hated the donut cushions.
I never used one as my surgeon recommended using a flat soft pillow instead.
When you think of what actually happens to your nether regions when you sit on a donut, they push through the hole and stretch. That stretching can contribute to undoing the marvellous work your surgeon has done.
My recommendation for inpatient stay time is to enjoy a hot, salt bath as often as you are allowed and to walk the halls as much as you can. I was bed-bound for seven days before I was allowed up and I walked the halls, albeit quite slowly at first. Before discharge I was walking all around the hospital and it's carpark.
As a Peri-Operative Clinical Nurse Consultant, my experience has shown that the sooner any surgical patient is able to get up and walk, the faster the healing, recuperation and eventual recovery.
Anne Margarete, all the best for your surgical experience.
Dilation of the neo-vagina is a pain but necessary for future function.

A Warning.
If you wish that Neo-Vagina to be of any use post op, then DO NOT neglect doing your dilations DAILY!
