Ok, it's been a long, long, long, long, long, long time and I'm sorry for that.
While I haven't managed to catch COVID, I've been busy with mental health, finances and other survival issues, including a two-week spate of homelessness last year (don't worry, it was the white version of homelessness not 'living off the street').
I got a message from a fan asking about Iron Tiger and I wanted to address that. I have nearly 18000 words of Part 6 done, most of which was done in 2013, but that's only HALF WAY to finished! What's left is the final confrontation as the Solars, Lunars and Terrestrials converge on the Yozi cultists and the resolution.
It is an Exalted fanfic, I am not going to charge for its production. I would like to see it finished but my financial situation is in dire straits (and I don't expect money for nothing or checks for free... I am a Socialist but we pay taxes to our government to help those in need, so that's not free). If anyone has a solution for this conundrum that may help all of us and get FatIT finished, I'm all ears.
Thank you to all the fans of my work. Seriously, you're one of the things that literally keeps me alive.

The questions, for me, are pretty simple.
1) What is it you _need_ (food, clothes, computer, housing, job, money for rent, ladies of negotiable virtue)?
2) Approximately where do you need them? (or does it involve needing to modify the location of your corpus?)
3) Approximately when do you need them?
I'll get a life when it's proven and substantiated to be better than what I'm currently experiencing.

Like it or not, certain things are foundational before one can channel ones energies to other pursuits.
It is a classic Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs situation.
So, first priority in resolving a deteriorating condition is to figure out how to stop the deterioration, staunch the blood loss so to speak. If it is money, how much? What is the plan to prevent falling into that money hole again?
Second is to get stability for a while, with help if necessary, creating a plan to move forward, to further shore up the situation.
It is no shame to need short term help to get over something that sets one up to succeed.
I was laid off in 1992, and again could not find work with what skill set I had after I had was laid off in 1989 for 9 months so I went back to school for a software degree which took 2 years. I did not want to make the mistake of trying to work while going back to school as I would be stretched too thin to work on my school work and software homework can be notoriously time consuming.
So, I accepted help from my partner's mother to basically pay the rent on our apartment while going back to school. I took loans and scholarships etc.
Fast forward to today and that comparative short term sacrifice to swallow my pride and accept help is paying my bills and keeping me gainfully employed even though a lot of people are in dire straits due to Covid killing their livelihood.
If you are still hesitant about accepting help then there is always the opportunity to make the decision to pay it forward and help somebody else out in their time of need, that is as valid as any other way of repaying for help imho.
A GoFundMe page can work if you can clearly delineate why you need help, what is the plan for using that help and a business case of how this will lead to an important endgame.
I am sure people here on BC will contribute something and be willing to take in return the fruits of your fertile imagination as payment and hopefully get you the help you need to move forward with your life.
