There will be some delay in my writing, as my mother passed away three days ago.

Love and Hugs

Many of us have gone through this trial. We understand. Remember to be good to yourself.

Hugs,
Erin

So very sorry ...

May all being be healthy, may all beings be happy, may all beings be free of suffering, may all beings be loved, both in this world, and in the next.

Aah!

I thought there must be a reason but I was reluctant to probe/ask in case it felt invasive.

My thoughts are with you, so try and stay strong. I'm told that normally there are tears and grieving is important.

Let them flow if they must.

All done

We had a humanist service eight days ago, which was as good as such an event can be. I am now sorting her things out, and to my surprise I found two skirts and a top that were identical to ones I own. Mother-daughter tastes.

Some slight issues from more distant family members who only remembered Him rather than me, but sod them. I had travelled home on TDoR, and arrived in the evening. Sat with her overnight, at home, one brother already there, the other arriving a couple of hours after me. All three of us were with her when she left, at 0955 the next morning.

Now just the heavy lifting of probate, etc.

Started another chapter tonight: it fills the empty spaces.

Broken Wings 35

See the comment attached to what has now been renumbered '999'.

I wrote 999 as therapy, and I knew as I did so that it was far too shallow and covered too much time, so I had a discussion in the comments, Maddy, Bev, Jo etc helping me find my focus once more. The original version stands as a sneak preview of the plotline to come, but I have now posted a new Chapter 35 which covers some stuff in more depth.

Further news

Just had a call from the older of my two brothers. The younger had a serious stroke two hours ago.

2020, can you please **** off.

More

The younger of my two brothers had a stroke on NYE. He was doing reasonably well, and was returned home. The last 24 hours...

My other brother is now with him. He had a cerebral haemorrhage yesterday, and the word this evening is that he was brain dead before he hit the floor. Tomorrow morning, they will give him a minute's silence before turning all the machines off and beginning organ harvest for donation.

I have an episode written of Broken Wings, and will post that tonight, before starting a solo wake. My remaining brother saw him this evening, and he "looks like he's asleep". That will be the last time any of us see him.

So much heartache

It's Not Much Help

joannebarbarella's picture

But for what it's worth, my deepest sympathy. First your Mum and now your brother. 2021 is not much better than 2020 for you, so far. It can only improve.

My former business partner (a lovely man) went the same way....massive stroke....dead before he hit the ground. Only one consolation, he did not suffer. He was 53. We never know, do we?
