Hey everyone, Karissa here. I've been writing Allison's Pledge for what seems like forever, though if we're going to be honest it's been about two weeks. The first part started as a bit of an experiment that came out of utter exaustion and mild depression and to be honest it was only supposed to be about three parts. I found that I didn't want to leave Allison's world, so I just kept writing, and writing, and writing until we're finally at the point we see now. Unfortunately, while it's a fun story to write, this particular one can't go on forever; we're coming to the end of her story and while I will revisit it, I do need to give it a rest for a while. We're looking at about 5 more main parts before this particular story is wrapped up, so let your imaginations run wild. I do want to thank everyone who has stuck with it, even though I've been a little passive aggressive at times (Remember; Allison doesn't write fiction!).
So what now? Well don't worry, if sororities, fraternities and random feminization are still your thing, there's a new story coming up which is along the same lines but vastly different. I hope to see you all there in a few days!

I'm a hypocrite when it comes to talking about writing since I'm a walking sad sack when it comes to frustration, jealousy, and trying to emulate others...
but be true to yourself here. you had a different kind of story, one that is either autobiographical, based on true events, or purely your own outlet for what you wish would happen...this is rare here, few can actually create something new that hasn't been done to death. Even the most popular writers retread, you didn't.
Do what you like next. Some topic will get your notice, don't force it just because people want you to post more stories. You risk becoming like several authors here and redo the same story over and over again with just different character names. Do what you want, find your calling. You might be better at coming of age stories or you might be better at sorority acceptance stories- it's all on you to do what you choose to do.

My favorite part
My favorite part about this is that somehow in my exhaustion I thought it would be hilarious to start it out as another forced fem story and then make the story arc in such a way that would make people say "Wait, what was I reading?" Considering I've been going on like two hours of sleep every night for the last two weeks I THINK I did pretty good.

that's what set your story apart- swerves.
Unexpected, but driving the storyline further and further. Some use it in their cliffhangers, some are subtle in misdirecting you from the main plot, others use it at the "third act" where the story appears to be winding down...you did it right away and turned it into something else entirely. If you can capture that muse and use it in another way you might have found your niche.

Turning cliches on their head...
Turning cliches on their head is one of those long shots in writing. I think you did that fairly well. You were able to create a character that was resilient enough to change her tormentors’ perceptions and in the process remake their motives. That’s unique. A lot has been said about Allison’s passivity. A friend once told me that ‘femininity was a gentle form of power.’ I think part of Allison’s character arc was learning where that strength comes from.
The ‘sorority girl’ is a trope. This is one trope where the ‘elephant in the room’ is that it often written as erotica. It’s a story trope that you were able to twist on its own conceit, and turn it into something sweet. It’s executed in the same vein that some of my favorite stories are executed. At the core of such stories was a character who had ‘heart.’ They solicit empathy from the audience. You were able to accomplish that with a ‘grounded’ story which doesn’t devolve into erotica.
For me, the ‘oh, you’ve gotta be kidding me, roll of the eyes moment’ did occur a few times :P . However, the ‘okay, I’m done with this story’ never materialize. That’s the authorial minefield you were able to navigate.
So major KUDOS for that...

It is true that...
... all story telling broken down to it's bare essentials, will be repetition of someone that has gone before.
But that said, as an avid reader and watcher of movies and especially anime, for one's enjoyment one have to divorce oneself from all stories that have gone before to enjoy a new one. Some stories fail totally at their attempt at being new and fresh.
This can not be said about Allison's Pledge. You created a relatible protagonists that one wanted to get to know, wanted to 'support', wanted to see succeed. And a story relevant to the times we live in and are experiencing.
If this is the caliber of stories that you plan to write, count me as someone who will be waiting in anticipation for your next foray into storytelling. Thank you for what you have given me so far in Allison's Pledge.
