I am the twin sister of Edeyn Blackeney. I arrived here at her home from the hospital and her computer was logged into this site, so I looked around. Apparently, she's known pretty well here.
There has been an incident. Approximately 6-7 hours ago, I got a gasping call from her cell -- which she only uses for emergencies. I'm still not sure what has happened entirely. I called the KCPD and they followed her cell signal. She's in the hospital and badly beaten, but they've got her stabilized and she's sleeping normally, at least.
I will try to remember to give more information as I get it.
I flew down on the soonest flight and her roommate offered me a place to shower and sleep.

all I can do is pray, and try to avoid groundless speculation about this nightmare...

I mean, I see her name on the shortcut thing at the top of the main page and I've been informed that she's an admin, but is she the in-house geek or something?
Is this one of those sites she writes the stories about the dwarves and elves and pirates for?
She is loved here..
For being who she is, and a part of our online community. Not because of the story she writes. Please give her my best and hopes for a speedy recovery.

Edeyn Is Loved Here
for both the work she does and the stories she writes. I kept her here when she was begging to quit and kept her going when she was down. I needed her here and wanted her here. She is a talented individual for whom there can be no copy of. Moreso, she is a friend of mine and whom I cherish. Please keep us informed of her condition?

Is this supposed to be some kind of revenge thing for her testimony? They should lock these bastards in the same cell as those other poor excuses for human beings.

OH MY GOD! I hope she is alright? she is a sister to most of us here as well as a comrade, an excellent authoress, a person we all can turn to in times of need. Please tell her that we are all thinking of her and praying in our own way for a speedy recovery. Please, please keep us updated if and when you can.

Edeyn's sister has promised to keep us informed on her condition and will phone me if anything adverse happens. I'll make sure everyone is updated on this situation.

Since many of us could also be labeled as such I don't think that matters much. What does matter is the mutual support we've all shared here. We write and blog as well as even have a bit of fun and silliness from time to time. Your sister is a true jewel and my prayers goes out to you both.

Whatever the circumstance, that she was hurt by another or others is sickening.
I hope for for her full recovery and that the reasons for her injuries and those responcible are brought to light. Then we stake them over a fireant hill.

Nick is right, we have too litle info. Outrage is an understandable reaction but hasty action will do more harm than good. Wait for the authorities to gather evidence and for Edeyn to recover and add what she knows, then action can be taken responcibly. I too suspect relatives of the convicted men but it well could be others, even a botched burlagry, but then why leave the computer and why not smash the computer/vandalize the place unless they feared discovery? Very odd that if it was a hate/revenge crime.

I'm not going to speculate, but when things like this happen it's good to think about how good we can be, rather than how horrible we sometimes are to each other.

I'm just . . . lost for words. This is so shokcing! I'm just shaking right now. I really really hope she's gona be okay. Please keep us up to dat with what happnes.
I'll add my very best wishes for a complete recovery for Edeyn
and for the swift arrest and punishment of the perpetrators of this inhumane act. I have no words sufficient to express my disgust for anyone who would do such a thing, regardless of any provocation. Unfortunately there are people in society, rather on the edges of it, who think nothing of doing things like this. I wish for them, what my cousin used to say about such people. May they be taken early and suffer long.
I have no sympathy for them, nor do I have any use for such people. Ariana, please be sure that Edeyn receives all our hopes and prayers for her recovery, and thank you for being alert and able to act quickly. It's very possible that you saved her life with your swift, intuitive actions.
