Banging on the donation drum.

A word from our sponsor:

The Breast Form Store Little Imperfections Big Rewards Sale Banner Ad (Save up to 50% off)

By now I'm sure that all of you are sick of me banging on the donation drum... but here I go again.

We have X (I use the X in deference to Erin who hasn't given me permission to use the exact number) numbers of members on the site. If each of them just gave ONE DOLLAR A MONTH, it would more than cover the monthly operating costs and generate funds to pay off loans and keep Erin out of the poorhouse!

ONE DOLLAR! You can't even get a decent cup of coffee, a soft drink, a candy bar, or even a newspaper for a buck any more, but you CAN help save a site!

Erin and crew have made it so easy to help out with several ways to contribute that it's almost as easy as clicking on a link!

I have to say this as well. Erin, Piper and all the rest of the assistants started this thing out of love and a desire to create a safe place for us. Erin has practically bankrupted herself, trying to keep the doors open and the wolf from tearing down the door.

Piper does a LOT of work she could be doing for a LOT more money than she gets from doing what she does for us, but she too does what she does because she loves all of us and loves the site.

Frank, Cat and a few more, whose names escape me at the moment, don't get paid for what they do, but they also do it out of love.

For myself, I have donated money on an irregular basis, since I'm on a very limited budget. I've also donated ALL my stories to Erin for publication with the proviso that ALL fees from any of my stories that get published go to the site. I don't get one CENT, and I like it that way. I didn't write to make money. I wrote because I HAD to write and I found out, to my amazement, that I COULD write.

A lot of interesting ideas have come up in comments to Angela Rasch's blog and I thank all of you who responded in the way you did. There are probably better ways to help the site, but I think mine is the easiest and a dollar a month is not beyond a majority of the members.

Some just can't, and I understand that even a dollar might make a difference in paying a bill or buying some food, so there is no blame from me if that's the case for someone.

So that's my plan. I will continue to donate when I can and, if my muse ever gets tired of the beach she's sunbathing on and shows her face, I'll write more... which will be donated to Erin and the Site.
