It takes money to pay the bills, keep BCTS running

I don't know any of the ladies personally but I do know why they started BCTS. They did it out of love and thinking they could provide for all the orphan writers out there a place to lay their stories to rest so anyone and everyone could read them. Have no idea how much actual businesses they had run before starting BCTS, the bottom line is this site won't run on love and warm feelings. That only starts a very small business, it won't keep it running no matter what. Eventually pulling money out of their savings, sacrificing their own time off, thinking next year things will balance out, and it doesn't eats at one's love for what they are doing.

The one fact of this business is no matter what, those stories we authors like to drop here are costing someone(s) money. They aren't actually "free" as someone is paying the tab so they can go back out on the web and be read by all who stop by. Free is that story sitting in our own computer and never being exposed to the world wide web.

I'm not going to rock anyone's indifference to whether BCTS keeps running or not. Those who care are already sending in donations and those who haven't...? The few who donate are carrying the load along with Piper, Erin, and all the rest. Personally I'd like to see the girls charge admission to drop back in after the first free visit. The logistics would be a nightmare setting up but free can't last. Maybe charge writers for dropping a story on the site? Damn it! We pay for advertising our work anyplace else.

Piper, Erin, ladies, I love you all but speaking bluntly, unless something changes all of us are going to look back and wonder why BCTS is no longer on the web. Right your ship and get it in order. Please.
Barb
