My recent addition to the New Stories pages had an effect I was not expecting. I refer to 'Charcoal, Cosmetics and Champagne'. It caught me because though I knew it would be read I didn't expect to receive the reviews.
I won't repeat them here because they can be seen on the story page but I will repeat my thanks because they lifted me so high I have been walking on clouds since they appeared. I had intended to write it as a longish short story but have changed my mind. The responses have convinced me that the story justifies a novel length treatment because people here on Big Closet enjoy reading not just a TG story but also a story that includes a TG element.
I am not going to reveal the names of the readers because if I do so I will fall into the trap of forgetting a name and thus possibly upset an unmentioned writer but I am going to thank you all again, your reviews lifted me so much and furthermore and this applies to previous stories as well, they have given me directions on which way I should go with my future writing and more importantly I have provided two good ideas which I will work on next year.
Most writers are grateful for reviews for many reasons; they increase sales, they boost morale, provide ideas of what their readers like but I had no idea that they could be so wonderful at making a writer feel so good about themselves and their efforts, (well that's whats happened in my case anyway.) So thank you all again.
And yes, I was involved in the art world in my past both graphics and fine art but not as a painter. I spent a few years calling on artists materials suppliers and this has given me an appreciation of art and a knowledge of the materials, mediums and wonderfully interesting people involved.
As for my next snippet from my short story anthology - the pace changes again, a little art again but there is a mystery: Is it TG or Hetero and if it is TG, who is the TG or are they lesbians? I'll leave you to work it out after I have posted the opening chapter(s).
A Truly Gratefull
