I've come to a realization that I'm not the kind of person I thought I was. Last night I went to post a story I had written and I come to find out that what I had written had unknowingly ripped off another story. Upon that happening it really hit me, I can't write anymore. Anything I write could possibly end up the same way and I don't want that.
So, to save my sanity and put this to rest I'm putting down the pad and paper and moving on from writing as a whole.
To anyone that even cared to read what I wrote, I thank you.
This is my final hour on BC, once the clock strikes 12pm EST I'll be logging out for the final time and I'll be riding off into the sunset.
Goodbye everyone.

There is nothing new under the sun
Every bit of media out there is derivative in some way of something that came before. That's a part of how inspiration works, putting together old pieces in new ways.
It happens sometimes that you get too close to something else you've seen, it's not a bad thing, just a thing that happens

Please don't go
If you don't want to write, OK. But you can still read the others stories and comment on them.
As for the writing, even if you got the same base as an other story, you put your spin on it. You don't want to be accuse of pragmatism, put a warning about it.
take time for your self and come back please.

Please show me any completely new idea in anything!
Our whole history is building on top of those who came before.
Ever heard the saying "I Can see so far because I am standing on the shoulders of giants."
As long as it is not a word for word or just a few little changes it is not a rip off.
For Example when I read authors on this site I can see where there inspiration comes from.

Do not worry.
People make mistakes. The point is you caught the mistake. Do not let a single mistake make you turn away from writing.
Please stay
All the stories are very close to the same, there is only so many ways you can write about M2F or F2M. So what I am saying is it's your interpretation of the story that make it unique to you and interesting to us.
Unless you are The lone Ranger or Roy Rogers please don't ride off into the sunset
Nothing new under the sun
The ideas aren't new, it's the viewpoints that are. You take the story and write it from your POV, that is what the readers enjoy. I remember seeing a comment from an author years ago that every possible story idea can be found in the bible. I don't know that I believe that but the underpinning is certainly valid.

A Big Thing
Hey Lilly, this is obviously a big deal to you, and to be honest, one perceived hurdle keeping me from writing stuff - I tell myself that I can't possibly come up with an original idea, that everything I come up with would unconsciously plagiarise somebody else's work. But then I am, unlike you, not much of a creative soul anyway. I would say, if you are reading this though, how many uncountable ranks of authors, of all skill levels, manage regardless? If they can do it, why not you? And there's a body of folk in here I am sure who could keep you from putting your foot in it too much with your plot outline if you asked.

I have seen people claim they are not creative...
...I grew up feeling the same way. We are all mistaken.
Every one of you reading this has the ability to tell a story. True, your first few attempts are not going to be the caliber of Stephen King or Mark Twain, but your writing will get better with practice.
If you happen to come up with a concept for a story that is the same as one that somebody else has used, make the story that you write your own. Admittedly, you are going to get static from readers with no flexibility with their standards. The great writers do too. :)
Cut yourself some slack though. Can you imagine how many stories we would have here if we all wrote stories? If you need help writing, ask for help. Also, you will find that the creativity you thought did not exist will start providing with more ideas than you can handle.
Give it a shot.
