I just clicked the link Tigger provided and it appears that Amazon has taken the author's page down. Looks like the reviews and phone calls had the correct effect. Hope that story thief gets what's coming to her. Great job everyone. We caught another thief!!

Unless I am seeing a cache
Unless I am seeing a cache page the thief's page is still there, only the book that person stole from Tigger is gone... the other ones are still up for sale.
Edit: checked on my laptop just now and her profile is still there complete with books for sale...
I'm told STFU more times in a day than most people get told in a lifetime
Current check
I've never searched Amazon for this author before, but I just did and found the following:
Changed Into a Girl
Oct 10, 2016
by Helena Darlington
Witchcraft
Oct 16, 2016
by Helena Darlington
Man Into Wife
Oct 5, 2016

Note that "Witchcraft" was posted on Oct. 16th, that would be yesterday. She's still at it.

Happiness is being all dressed up and HAVING some place to go.
Semper in femineo gerunt
Ich bin eine Mann
Another new book went up under that name
And again, it sounds familiar in the synopsis.
I was willing to believe that this was someone who was publishing their own books until the one of Tigger's went up. Now I am morally certain that these are all stolen goods.
Really kind of pissed about this. Legitimate authors who post their own books or go through someone like DopplerPress are also harmed by this plagiarism. You don't have to be personally ripped off to have your own sales vulched by thieves.

I posted a warning on Fictionmania
I posted a warning about this author on Fictionmania message boards as that is also a likely candidate for where the stories came from. A couple of the stories remind me of things i have read in the past, but I can't recall specifics enough to know which stories they were. Maybe in a day or three my brain will kick in and tell me what I have forgotten so I can track down the originals.
Thief
I saw four books on Amazon by this person last week and thought they looked suspicious but I didn't want raise an alarm on a innocent writer. So how do I raise a concern without burning down the house? I don't know about the rest of you but writing wrings out a lot of emotions/energy from me into the pages.
I despise thieves especially those that steal anothers' intellectual property but because I find it so highly offensive I am hesitant to accuse someone because it just doesn't "look right." I equate theft of this type with what we called rogues growing up; those that use your friendship/kinship to steal from you. But how should I raise concern in the future if/when I see something similar.
I now ask too is it necessary to place a copyright statement somewhere on a story placed here or is it understood? And if it is needed is there a proper format?

Scroll down
There's a notice at the bottom of the front page assigning copyrights to contributors. Legally, that is enough. If you have registered your own copyright with the copyright office, then yes, you should include the notice on your own story page. I'm aware of two writers here who do that.
