G'day all.
I spotted a new (to me) homophone the other day, when an author used the word 'hoard' instead of the correct 'horde' ...
"The hoard of parents swarmed onto the football field ..."
It made me wonder where 'they' had stashed all these parents.
But the follow-up to this made me literally LOL.
I had mentioned it on another site and got a reply from a friend who lives in Las Vegas.
She said: "Here, we would have written 'whored'."
...
Enjoy your weekend folks.

P.S. I was also directed to a site devoted to homophones, called, strangely, homophone.com
A quick hour or two of browsing there gave me many more homophones I had never dreamed of!

Perhaps
they'd come from a bored meeting.

Taughtology?
Looking back on my mainly unillustrious career, I can scarce think of a meeting in which I was not bored.
Unless you meant a conjunction of drills?
A bored board meeting? Karen
A bored board meeting?

Aren't you bored
at meetings?
Bored Meeting
I worked in a small computer shop for a while where we would have "Bored Meetings" when things were slow and we needed a break. We'd close the door and take 15, let the place air out for a few minutes and reopen...
Is there a story idea in that?
"a horde of hoarded whores"
;))
>i<
Given a little magical licence ...
Perhaps the horde of hoarded whores are controlled by a set of sordid swords that soared through the air?
Well I for one
.... have never hoard of such a thing!
How about
A horde of bored whores roared onto the field ?

I like it!
cored, cord and cawed have been my favourites up to now!
How about...
taught, taut, tort and even the edible sort - torte? It's a piece of cake!

Wow
None of those sound alike in my dialect! Which is weird because pin/pen, tin/ten and put/putt do!

= Give everyone the benefit of the doubt because certainty is a fragile thing that can be shattered by one overlooked fact.
hey, we're talking
received pronunciation here!

If there are homophones
are there also cisphones?
right then
Is it correct to write about the wright's rites? Or am I too staid and have stayed too long to get in more than two? Maybe some German is required.
