We have been busy with RL, mainstream publishing projects and a host of other things.
However we will shortly be releasing our latest book here on BCTS.
The lives of two people, separated by centuries, are slowly drawn together as the mystery surrounding a portrait some believe is an undiscovered work by a Renaissance master is unraveled.
Offered the opportunity by her former mentor to research the origins of a portrait purchased by a wealthy entrepreneur who fancies himself a connoisseur of the arts, Megan Ellsworth finds herself drawn into a story that winds its way through the Byzantine world of late Renaissance politics, a time of great beauty set against a backdrop of unimaginable brutality. Along the way the subject of the portrait takes on a life that mesmerizes Megan, for she slowly comes to appreciate she and a young woman dubbed ‘The English Courtesan’ are, in so many ways, alike.
Driving her on are two men, Guy Tinsdal, who purchased the piece believing it was painted by Leonardo De Vinci, and Clive Barrow, a retired art historian and Megan’s former supervisor at the National Gallery who sees her efforts as a way of resurrecting his career and leaving a mark on the art world worthy of his name. Resisting the push and pull of these men, as well as her own desire to establish herself as an independent authority on Renaissance art, Megan meticulously goes about piecing together the truth behind the person who, until now, has only been known as ‘The English Courtesan.’
