As of 3 pm today we are again a three cat household.

IMG_5750.JPG

They were born to different moms in early and mid April of this year

Not yet named though the younger ( to the right in the picture ) -- by a couple weeks -- kitten may end up Molly .

The older girl is a bit of a devil though snoozing at the moment.

The last of our previous trio, Sniffanie, hissed at them. Rare bad temper by her.

But then she is a good 20 months older and thus a dignified adult.... RIGHT. Need a vet apnt, shots and such but so far seem alert, healthy and CUTE!

I would want a cat

But dealing with cat (or dog) hair makes me cringe and I personally want my bed to be free of that stuff. What do you cat owners out there do to keep your pet hair problem under control?

Share my water glass with me...or let me use it too. Sleep on the bed with me...

Fur is everywhere, so long as you aren't allergic it isn't a bother compared to the love and cuddling.

Yes and no

At the risk of TMI, spontaneous love making on a bed full of pet hair and licking it and coughing with it will ruin the mood.

I love other people's cats but am hesitant to have my own though as a consequence.

Short hair means nothing of course

I am good friends with an outdoor cat of my neighbor's. As a matter of fact it regularly hangs about near my front door. And yes it is a short hair domestic. I have recently have had the joy of having to help it remove the incredible amount of shedding it produces so yes I am wary.

It is a very friendly little cat who in cooler weather would sit on my lap during evenings and it would love to explore my house if I let it but he is very much a shedder.

Cats

I am also staff to 3 cats.
Question:
How do you tell a true cat lover?
They are the one at the restaurant that has a bag of cat hair to sprinkle on the food so it tastes right. LOL

My cats got me thru the loss of my fiancé` when she was killed. I kept her 2 cats, so now I have 3.
A house without a cat is not a home.

very cute

Hi John, glad to hear you've adopted to fill the hole left recently.

we have 2 cats and 2 wolfhound crosses (m and f of each) , and they all love each other as much as we love them.

Meow, phitt and thanks for the kind words

T o be honest we have SEVEN cats but four are buried near a couple peony bushes in the back yard.

At the moment I am typing this the older one is laying with her butt touching me and her head almost off the bed. The younger one is napping behind my knees.

Had Sniffanie in here for a good fifteen minutes this am and little or no hissing. Just a lot of sniffing around. We let them see and hear each other but kept them apart for the kitten's safety.

So in a few days maybe they can start having time together with supervision. She's is at least four times their size maybe more.

All three are your basic shorthaired domestic whatevers. Nothing purebred at all.

And the kittens sure can purr LOUD.

Badly need their claws trimmed. OUCH!

John in Wauwatosa off to a parade north of Milwaukee later this am.

pets

we have a cat 2 dogs and 2 birds here and tell you its like they are the boss of the place.

Cats.

I like cats but am allergic to them. I figure the next best thing to a cat is likely a fox. There are domesticated breeds of them after all.

Yeah, John!

I have seen it... and it was a kitten. LoL
Our first (and last) cat was a nightmare on four legs. She was all sweet and innocent when we picked her out of the litter.... she was quiet as she rode home with us. Second we opened her cage she hissed, sliced my hand open and bolted under the couch. For weeks we had to wear shoes around the house for fear of having our feet viciously assualted. It was nearly two months before i saw the cat again (other than a single claw trying to kill me and an eye peering malevolently at anyone passing by ) and it scared the crap out of me. She found her way on top of my dresser, when i walked into the room her back arched and she hissed and yeowled at me....*slowly backing away*....
when she went into heat we took her to the vet.. had to trick her by putting food in the cage. It took 5 adults to hold that little kitten down so the vet could give her a shot to knock her out and there was not 1 person who left that room that wasn't bleeding. Getting her fixed seemed to mellow her out a little bit...afterwards she didnt try to rip your throat out every chance she got, but she wasnt ever a loving cat. To make matters worse she'd spend hours grooming her beloved claws... but never once bother with her coat. It would matt up and fall off in huge chunks. No one sane would try to brush her.
i was never so happy to have an animal run away as i was when she left...

Cat man.

You should really watch the show with that cat whisperer guy. He works miracles.

A lot of the time it would be the layout of the apartment or something that would set a cat off though at one point he did end up dealing with a cat nothing worked on that had to be medicated in the end.

Google "My Cat From Hell".

Google "My Cat From Hell". that's the TV show.

{I leave a trail of Kudos as I browse the site. Be careful where you step!}

To keep down the shedding,

To keep down the shedding, you have to do three things.

1) short hair cat.
2) indoor only. (shedding is worst during winter/summer coat changes)
3) use a shedding brush on the cat reasonably regularly. Most love it.

I'll get a life when it's proven and substantiated to be better than what I'm currently experiencing.
