Stupidity is a capital offense. A summary not indictable.

Sorry

Sorry for your difficulties and frustration. I'm too computer illiterate to offer help but just know that I hope you figure out all the nonsense you've been having. I will be sorely sad if your Maddy site goes down and the story stops because of this. Best of luck to you lady.

maddy can you send the updates to piper or erin to see if they can upload it to see if the problem is at your end or the server's and if you can, try some other computer like a friends or a public library. hopefully you do not need to restore your computer to fix corrupted files or viruses. good luck

Uploads

We are totally able to upload to Maddy's account, using our own or Maddy's login, from New Jersey or from England, using direct connections or proxies. There does not seem to be a problem on our end, but perhaps a very real problem somewhere between Maddy and us. Our ability to troubleshoot this is limited without hands-on access to Maddy's machine. Personally, I kinda sorta suspect malware on Maddy's computer.

Hugs,
Erin

not my own machine, I have no way of fixing anything with it, the fact it worked ok at the weekend points to something beyond here but what do I know?

do you need a computer of

do you need a computer of your own?

I'll get a life when it's proven and substantiated to be better than what I'm currently experiencing.

Today's part 439 ia availible

I tested now at 934 UTC Thursday morning and he part was availible. A trought: Could it be that the server has some kind of update at the time when you normally deliver your parts and therefore cannot confirm that it has received your text. But it might have been received and stored to be made availible for us all at a later hour. That was the case with 438 as well. I could not find it direct after you had told that it was OK here , but the following morning it was there on your own site. Perhaps a contact with your ISP could sort this out

GinnieG

ISP

MaddyBell.com is hosted by BCTS, so she is contacting her ISP. The problem is that Erin, Cat, and Piper can not reproduce her problems, therefore can't fix them.

Network

Have someone checked if the network is ok? A faulty networkcard, switch or router can makes some trouble.
To check this, someone have to upload a test file and the checksum for this file. Maddy have then to download the file and use a checksum utility to get her checksum. (Both have to use the same checksum utility and the test file should be no small file. 20 - 30 MBytes is ok) If the 2 checksums are different then is there a network hardware problem.

How about remote access using Teamviewer to diagnose things?

Personally I buy each and every Gaby book when it is made available, but I feel sad for those of us who cannot afford to buy them, if Maddy has to give up publishing chapters both here and on Maddybell.com.

I have previously used Teamviewer to get remote access to friends' and relatives' computers when I help them out with their issues. It is free (as in free beer), runs on Windows, Mac and Linux.

I know this comes off as a bit of spam, but I promise I have no relations to the company that owns/sells the application.
