before the storm!

Well today the sun is out, the wind is not and it looks like a good day! That said the forecasters reckon there could be all sorts of bad weather over New Year so i'll do a short ride before i cook our Sunday lunch - a sort of roast dinner with turkey - well i've not actually had any up to now so today is the day.

It's been an eventful few days, the weather has been cold and grey but not freezing and essentially dry. Thursday i did a short loop of @ 40km down to Bath and into the fog up above the city, having decided a longer ride in the low cloud wasn't going to be much fun. Friday, rather than a walk i did another short ride, this time down into Brizzle and around the harbour.

Saturday was going to be a longer ride but i didn't get five miles in before yet another deflation. I'm getting a bit fed up of this, i headed back with some despondency then came up with a cunning plan. A different bike and a little cajoling saw Bev join me for a little trip down the bike path to Bath where we stopped for soup and coffee before returning. I ended up with @ 50km for the day, not what i'd planned but the ride with Bev made a pleasant change.

Of course, today is a Gaby day so you have chapter 20 of the current tome, Hilde to hopefully enjoy.

So what else - oh right, yes, thank you all for voting in the Xmas competition, I'm chuffed to bits to have come in joint third in what was a very keen competition.

I think that about wraps things up for today, i'll be back on New Years day
