An easy answer to a difficult question. Often posed by me when wanting to be excused from doing exactly what I already know is truly expected.

Micah 6:8:
No, O people, the Lord has told you what is good,

The spirit of the Pharisees

The Pharisees never died out. Their spirit is alive and well in Christianity today. It always makes me think of this stanza from The Yew Tree by The Battlefield Band:

Did you no' think tae tell when John Knox himsel'
Preached under your branches sae black
To the poor common folk who would lift up the yoke
O' the bishops and priests frae their backs
But you knew the bargain he sold them
And freedom was only one part
For the price o' their souls was a gospel sae cold
It would freeze up the joy in their hearts

Some Embrace Life's Gifts, Other's Hate it

Believe what one must as it is of a free will God has granted every life on this world. I'm not the only one who has experienced many times God's intervention when I should have died. There are no miracles only lack of faith. If one must call divine intervention a miracle then so be it.
