season is here
which means its officially Chrimbo season as far as the God botherers are concerned. Of course, the shops have been pushing 'seasonal' goods since September and decorations started sprouting at least a fortnight since but for me, anything before the first Sunday in Advent is just wrong! Not that i'm religious, far from it, but surely a month of build up is enough?
Anyhow, after Wednesdays epic ride, Thursday & Friday were both fairly quiet, the weather quite mild and mostly dry. Thursday was a bit of a walk for an IKEA lunch and some Euros for the upcoming trip, Friday was a little more exciting with a visit to Dorsetshire to see the famous scribe, Angharad. It was a nice enough day even if the drive back in the dark was a little hard on the nerves at times.
Yesterday had a warmer forecast so i decided a ride up to Stroud for a spot of lunch would be good. And for the most part it was even if my later departure resulted in needing lights for the last few kilometres. It turned out to be my longest ride in over a month, 115km although it came up a bit short of the Welsh ride in metres gained, only making 800 and odd.
Which brings us to today. We've had a fairly early, for us lunch, pork this week, we don't have it very often and it was a nice change. Of course i've posted a new Gaby chapter, with Bicycle Race we finally get to the mid tour race. But what's this, the Wunderkind having doubts? have a read to see exactly what's going on.
Of course, this week i am off to Germany so Wednesday will be the last post until my return. I'm not packed but i'm otherwise pretty much ready to travel, there isn't really a hard and fast itinerary but i have a fair idea of what i'm hoping to include. I'm in a state of nervous excitement, excited to be going but nervous as i've got a history of picking up injuries either just prior or early on in my December trips to the continent! Wrenched knees, twisted ankles, sprained wrists, severe bruising - not fun and sometimes quite restrictive - fingers crossed i can stay fully fit this year.
Well that's it for now, so until Wednesday,
Tschussie,
Mads.

Not Light
Sun doesn't come up until after eight (not a mint!) and it's dark by four in the afternoon. One of the reasons I left!
I think I jinxed
Things yesterday.
No sooner had I got lunch out of the way I started with an ‘injury’, oh I didn’t fall or overstretch or anything of that sort, no, it was a raging toothache which hasn’t reacted to any of the usual treatments and kept me awake half the night! The good news is that it’s receded to bearable and I’m not flying.
Hopefully it will sort itself out today - or it won’t
