but not quite!

The latter part of the week has been - well 'interesting' i guess you could say. Thursday i had planned a half decent ride but, even if it wasn't a bad day weatherwise, i wasn't feeling it so i ended up doing a Bath special, a little over 50km, mostly on dedicated bike path. Then i set too with the PC, would a clean and contact check make a difference? Nope, looks like a failed video card so onto plan B.

Long story short, my computing guru came for a look Friday morning but swapping out the video had no effect so the whole kit and caboodle left for more intensive surgery. I thought i'd best make an effort to get something better than the phone for internet use so, i had a bit more of a play with the 'working' laptop, i've got it just about running but its not keen on stuff like Youtube or Outlook, so email is just about doable but any sort of video is a bit hit & miss.

A favourable forecast encouraged me out on two wheels yesterday, i set off to do a Cotswold loop with a lunch break in the Stroud area before an easy return. Well that is what i did, problem was i ended up adding a few twiddly bits which drew the ride out to over 125km but i'd only fed for @ 100km. The result was a last few kilometres ridden on fumes, i didn't bonk but i wasn't far off, i could've picked up extra supplies of course but my route didn't exactly pass a lot of options for refuelling, i don't think i passed a single shop in @ 40km! Anyhoo, it was a good ride, mostly on quiet roads which perked me up a bit - once i'd got some calories back on board!

Today? well with daylight saving starting overnight my body clock is a bit out, i got the laundry out of the way then took a parcel to the shop, i actually sold something via Vinted (a UK clothing resale site). It's another bright day which seems a bit of a waste to not do something more, but i've had a walk and after yesterdays ride, well a quiet day is called for. Aunty Bev has tret us to Steak for dinner so i'll cook that up later on.

Having a sort of working laptop means that i've been able to post the next Gaby chapter this afternoon, Book 27, chapter 11, Long Live Rock'n'roll, see's our heroine back on two wheels but not before she has an adventure she'd rather not have!

What's on the cards this week? In no particular order, the veg beds need sorting out, the greenhouse tidying up, the bike needs a clean, hopefully we'll get a car assist ride in and i might make some more chutney. That's if the hot air balloons miss the house, one almost landed on the roof just now! and i bet it didn't have any of the Thatchers it is advertising either.
