And other crap
So, on Monday I headed out for my vaccination's as I mentioned on Sunday. Got there and I wasn’t on the list then after some discussion it was determined that I couldn’t get the flu jab as I’m not old or decrepit enough! I did get the Covid dose after which I set off for a bit of a walk.
I got in just shy of 6km in a loop along the river so that wasn’t so bad. But my day was all mixed up and I never settled to do anything constructive. It didn’t help that some stuff for the bike turned up with part’s missing so I had to try to sort that .
On to Tuesday, it was supposed to be dry and sunny but I set off under grey skies for my regular burger ride. I didn’t fancy a full on mucky so it was chicken with salad - which is fine but less satisfying. It did brighten up for the return but the sun remained a bit elusive for the rest of the 70km route.
Then, after tea, things went to poo, the PC got a case of screen lock so I ended up shutting down and now, well nada. Whilst the tower seems to be making the right noises, the screen remains blank. I’m pretty sure it’s the machines graphics card at fault, well I’ve had long running issues that point that way.
I tried my backup laptops, one won’t boot at all, the other I couldn’t get to connect to the www. (Sigh) so here I am, using my phone to write this and unsure of what I’m doing next. I need to check with the tower builder to check what graphics are fitted, if they are integrated I think I’m stuffed.
I don’t think 2024 is my year, it’s been a string of disasters!
Just a warning then, until I get a machine working I won’t be able to post new Gaby, how and when that happens I can’t tell at the moment.
Going forward this week, the car/bike trip has been postponed as we have tradesmen coming tomorrow so I’ll likely do a ‘local’ loop and the same on Saturday.
There is one positive to report, Monday marked the 20th anniversary of me joining the Big Closet community! Where have the years gone?
Well that’s about it, I’ll post an update at the weekend, but for now,
Wiedersehn,
