Yep, its taken a decidedly cool turn!

My apologies for replacing the original post today, local conditions meant i had to hurriedly power down for the 'lectrician.

So on a damp blowey Monday morning our small expeditionary force set off south to see the famous writer, Angharad. We had a good day, chatting, eating and in some cases snoozing before heading back into the evening towards Brizzle. I am not the most sociable of people, a bit ironic given my employment history, i don't make friends easily being terminally shy, but i do like more discrete gatherings with folk i know. Conversations with Ang usually cover a wide spectrum of subjects, almost nothing is taboo, we agree to differ on some subjects and everyone has their own specialist subjects so its friendly rather than lively debate.

Tuesday was a windy ride out for a burger. I decided to do a clockwise variant of my Yeo/Chew valley circuit which, whilst not gaining a lot of metres is quite lumpy. Over the years i've learnt that avoiding stuff on your rides is counter productive, reinforcing your dislike/ability which in turn means your overall enjoyment of riding is negatively impacted so i do ride if its windy/cooler/damp/hilly, you learn extra skills and you gain bragging rights, besides not having the same fears. So a couple of hours, into the wind on a rollercoaster route with a bit of wind blown H2O was mostly just a bit 'bleh' as opposed to ruination of the ride.

The stop came at @ 60km, a mixed chicken/meat burger with cheese and a pile of salad, so perhaps a bit healthier than a double cheeseburger, my usual go to! The return was a bit warmer and drier, the wind more behind me as i traversed the Gordano and Avon valleys back to Brizz and an end score of 102km with 700+m of upward effort.

Weatherwise today is much the same, not quite as windy but a degree or three cooler. We've had the Sparky in again working through the list of issues/fixes required to get the compliance certificate, another session next week and it'll be job done. I've only been out for a bit of shopping, restocking the mekkings and a bit of frozen stuff. I'm hoping to get in a couple more decent rides before Sunday which, being the first such of the month, is the Hill Bun Fest so i'll head out for that before i do Sunday's post.

I'll be back on Sunday with more Gaby, but for now
Wiedersehn,
Madeline Anafrid
